Playing the same players, using the same tactics and style, will ultimately halt our progress. We can’t afford to miss on transfers, but we can’t expect to hit the jackpot every time either. To counteract this, I wished Eddie would loosen up, and adapt to what we got a bit more. After Staverly and Ashworth left, it’s gone slowly downwards (this is not on Eddie btw). I really miss the optimism, the great communication and interactions with the fans, the trangers rumours, the quick dealings, the signing out of nowhere, everything that made things buzzying the first few years Not sure I agree, if anything he's abandoned the intense pressing and attacking game to cope with the number of games this season. We haven't looked the better for it, and not as fun to watch. First half against Chelsea looked like the old Howe NUFC but most of this season we haven't looked like that. Dr Venkman
Look at the absolute state of the clubs that are stuck in the cycle of trying to find a coach who can do the job, and treasure this man all the more. Eddie’s Mags

Would change the dynamic. Would be a lovely addition to the squad mind. I think Gini & Sissoko would be plug and play. 3 hours ago, aussiemag said: Sissoko was a shitter and slightly fast version of Joelinton IMO. He had a horrible touch and his passing was awful. Disagree. He had a decent first touch and his passing was no worse than Joelinton, probably more consistent then Joelinton's passing. Ended up a useful player for a good Spurs side and over 70 caps for France. But that was it. A good player but not one that should be a teams best player. Especially not at RW. I love Benitez but not playing Gini & Sissoko at CM or in a midfield 3 was poor from him. Both seemed like good pro's
SteV
For anyone even remotely concerned about him being interested in any of the various managerial vacancies, I’d encourage you to listen to his answer to Edwards question to him at today’s presser. He’s going nowhere.

I’m proud to have him as a manager and of course I want more success, but I really want him to be the person to lead us there, not some twerp that I can’t stand the sight and sound of (like many of our previous managers). Tiresias
I agree he's tried to change the high intensity game to cope with injuries and schedule and it's just quite worked, I think he wants us to press at the high intensity only in certain phases of games, but our composure at the back has been so poor it isn't working. I don't think the group of players is suited to playing a slower more deliberate style, the ball retential is just too poor, but also we didn't really even seem to try and sign a ball playing technical midfielder which is surely first step towards having a more posession based game in our locker. As I said I think that the most important thing for me is happiness in the role, happiness in the job, the relationships that I have with the people around me. Now, that’s not always been consistently good, and things can change at any football club, but at the moment I’m very happy, I think we made some key appointments in the roles that needed to fill, and as long as I can express myself in the best way possible, and I’m the best version of myself to help the players and the club, cos ultimately for any club to be successful there has to be unity from top to bottom, a good feeling between everybody. I’ve had an unbelievable relationship with the board since I came here, that’s never changed, and I consider myself very lucky to have that, cos there’s very few managers that have the time to build those relationships, to have the confidence and trust within each other, it’s really important, and if you’ve got all of those things, you’ve got a higher chance of being successful. I’m very happy at the moment and hopefully that stays for a long time” tldr: video is on the app and this is about 14:30 in
Tiresias
I can see it but I also think it won't work at all. Howe will hate not having access to the players often. He's fairly straight ahead with the press so they will be constantly goading him into saying something 'controversial' to splash on the headlines and they will hate him for not indulging them much. I also don't think he will suit managing teams in those short spurts. Could be wrong, I thought Tuchel would find the lack of coaching time difficult and he seems to be doing fine. Honestly think it will go to Frank Lampard as he will love the extra time for showing up nattering to pundits midseason and everyone will bang on about him being an inspirational figure, though the results will be dreadful.
