Man City, Arsenal, Liverpool and Villa seem to manage 3 games a week - so why can't we? Same thing happened last time we were in the CL too.

I'm a broken record but Villa didn't handle it at all when they were playing in the CL.

Regular theme really, no-one in the pockets. Striker needing to either drop deep into CM or have two CBs mark them. Alright if it's Haaland stuff, because they then have two players positioned in those spaces, we seemingly do neither. Don't know why we can't just push one of the CMs up like Joelinton was against Bilbao at home and in general in seasons gone by.

Wingers hugging the touchline doesn't help either. When Elanga was on, he was popping up loads next to Wissa in middle, which is an improvement, but it then meant no wide option and still no-one on edge of box wanting it into feet on half turn.

Simple to defend against.

Not that it matters, but this doesn't include crosses. Cross map is...

Correct me if I'm wrong but when we were after Ekitike it was said he was being brought in to play with isak , I think that's what we are lacking and we tried it alot when we didn't have cl football but with all the midweek games we can't risk it

One of the biggest issues for me is our summer business, overall it has not had the impact anyone would have hoped for (surely Howe included). I'm not labeling specific players, but overall, it was a bad summer and if anything, relatively speaking, we stood still at best. Even if he wanted to, he has not been able to develop our style of play as the players he bought are not up to it.

The Isak situation completely fucked our planning, and system for me. We have not adapted since.

Add in the CL and cup runs, we are a squad running on a tight rope, with not enough quality on the bench (or form) in the squad to address it.

Yes there are many frustrations you can add in (reliance on out of form players, poor subs etc) but with limited time between games, he does not seem to have the capacity or time (and perhaps the desire) to work on new ideas.

I don't see us addressing this in January due to PSR.

On the plus side we could still finish in a decent position, CL still in play and in till in both cups.

He has the season for me but he would need a very big think about what we look like next season, and have get the right players to make that happen. Should that fail, then perhaps its time to look at a new manager, and more experienced one when it comes to Europe etc.

Agree with most of it. Only thing I would say is, we have some great players already, but aren’t playing to most of their strengths. A few additions are needed, but we don’t need a massive overhaul in the summer. Just start fitting round pegs in round holes.

He’s mentioned about not having a plan B, which would mean plan A isn’t working. It hasn’t most of this season. How he can’t acknowledge really baffles me (and 90% of the forum I would say).

I love Eddie, always will. But I’m getting to the point where watching us is boring (especially away from home). We just look predictable all the time.

He’s only not in trouble due to how bad all the other teams around us have been. We’re only 3 points from 4th, so it all could turn around.. but there such a lack of desire to change anything. We are relying on luck to save our season.

Is that the Man City who lost to Man Utd, the Arsenal who drew 0-0 away to relegation fodder, the Liverpool who drew  at home to relegation fodder, and the Villa who lost at home to Everton this weekend?

And the other three have twisted about it for as long as I can remember, despite having much bigger squads.

There are no good managers out there available at the moment which are realistic to bring in, and let's face it, no one is going to come in and do a better job than Eddie.

Just have to take a look at the Villa and Everton game at the minute to see just how competitive the league is, considering the form that Everton has been in. There are no perfect managers.

Once the dressing room is lost then it's time for a change but at the moment everyone is trying to pull together.

There are some very entitled people here.

The quote" No one " does my head in mind, you'd think he was the only good manager in the world. 😂

He rotates players and there form is suffering for it like wolte and wissa, then leaves botman and hall on all game when we could've used the bairns wolves were no threat second half. Hall or the Dutchman will be knackered soon.

Who is out there and realistic?

We would end up with a no mark interim manager until the end of the season.  Our summer transfer window would be a wait and see who the new manager is before moving forward with any targets.

Would send the whole club back massively.

Normally that's why a dof is for to build the squad so we aren't massively a one system only team.

They were brilliant when they reinforced in January. 66 points

They did to be fair.

Their summer window was a disaster,  managed to recruit even worse than us in the summer.  Sancho, Elliott, Lindelof, Guessand all been poor.

Rotating Wissa and Wolte is absolutely killing my fantasy football. I'm sentimental and need to have a NUFC striker in my team, but they miss every other game. ugh.

I don't think this role has ever worked properly in the PL except Brighton.
