Yeah just keep him as our manager through defeat after defeat until the end of the season. He hasn't got a scooby how to fix it, players aren't playing for him  they seem to have no faith in his ways anymore.

I can see a mass exodus in the summer.

But what do us lot know as where all thick. 😂

Fucking LOL

Enjoyed his presser as always. My opinion wouldn't change regardless of the result tomorrow but fuck I hope we get a result tomorrow.

It's going to be really tough going for ages yet, we just need the odd positive result to trepanate the growing negative vibes, stay vaguely in the running, and attack the end of the season without the toll of Europe.

if we get to CL semi finals everyone will be singing his praises again

for me it makes no difference, he's allowed to have a bad season

He's human. Humans need time to adapt, grow and change.

If us, as fans, or the board don't give him that time, i think we will sorely regret it.

This is the biggest job of Eddie's life, you better believe he's giving it everything he's got and more.

So let's get this right, less than 1 in 10 of a decent sized, fairly representative group of supporters on here want him to go now but it's still being seized on by the media and others as the biggest story around the club right now ?

I guess it's like when a couple of hundred people out of a 50,000 crowd boo the team off but the narrative becomes "they were booed off the pitch" ?

You should've just left me with my assumptions instead of posting that and proving me right 😉

I do think tactically players might have developed a feeling that we hit a ceiling when playing such a crazy busy fixture list which wont allow us the that much needed extra running and tempo to be played. and the alternative Howe is coming up with is just very poor tactically and outfoxed by stronger and weaker squads too.

sadly there is very good chance Emery will outfox him same way as in PL recently and we are out of FA cup this weekend. if there is a poor result vs a very bad Tottenham too midweek, that this is an incredibly shit week after an incredibly shit week we just had.

Ok the European competitions worth being in are looking increasingly out of reach but we have a great chance of CL progression and we're not out of the FA cup just yet. Have a bit of faith, the season is far from fucked

im worried his tank is empty, he looked in a bad place Saturday.

On a personal level I hope he’s got the support behind him to bring him back up

I'm been on the fence with him, and been like it for some time. I also think he's getting replaced in the summer unless something monumental happens (fa cup win, CL semis etc...) and he potentially feels it as well. But I'll not have cunts like Edwards making it more uncomfortable for him.

So fuck Edwards, the media, and the rest of the cunts spinning narratives. I'm fully behind him this season regardless of form, results and placings. Howe has shown a bit of vulnerabilty in recent days, and it's down to the fans to protect him, especially against the gutter press and 9thers who wish to do us harm.

I listened to that Adopted Geordies pod with Dan Burn.  He, like everyone else who has worked with Howe.  Was saying what a workaholic he is and how he seems to never stop.  He'd said in some really short window of time, I forget how long.  That he had watched the previous 8 games Villa had played in full, prior to our game with them.

It's also well known that he is pretty much always the first to get in and the last to leave.  I think he has finally started to look and sound like a man that is suffering from the pressure and burnout of it all.

It is one of the reasons I stayed off here last week.  I felt myself getting more and more negative towards the football we have been serving up and in turn, Howe, I guess.  When he has done more for this club than basically anyone in recent history, it's not really on to be like that and I think I hated myself for feeling that way.

All that said.  I just can't see how he turns it around from here and he genuinely looks like he is out of ideas with how we are playing IMO.  Not that I think it is through a lack of effort or anything like that.  He has put his heart and soul into this team and there are genuine excuses and reasons for a lot of it, too.

Just like last season, I hope he proves me wrong yet again and barring some catastrophic run of results.  He deserves the rest of this season as a bare minimum.

I actually think Edwards is one of his biggest media supporters.

He’s asking the questions he has recently (IMO) in order to try and give him a platform to shut down the noise. It probably hasn’t played out like that, so maybe misguided from Edwards, but he’s very much pro-Howe.

Would be great if Wor Flags could come up with a big Eddie-tifo to show him the support from the fans.

Problem is we don't have a home game in a while.

We must support Eddie in times like this!

I would argue the complete opposite tbh.

By converting chances you take the pressure off the defensive aspect of things and probably don't shit the bed quite so much in the final stages. 23/24 is a good example of this; there's six games where we scored three without reply. Several more where we scored a hatful but conceded once, twice, three times without it affecting the result.

Everything bad about our play this season can be traced back to not putting our chances away imo. Do that and you take the pressure off the defence, build momentum and confidence, and probably start to play better football on the whole.

People will gladly lump all of our summer signings into the shitpile, but if just one of the strikers worked out, we're looking at a very different season altogether imo.

A valid argument.

But on the flipside, equally as valid is saying that if you're rock solid at the back it puts less pressure on your goal scorers and therefore they convert more chances because of that.

It's daft to argue for one and against the other. Because they're both highly plausible scenarios.

The 22/23 NUFC was the best I've ever seen us be defensively and we had an outstanding season, I'm sure our defensive solidity meant we needed to convert fewer chances to win games. And winning games builds confidence.

And this season we've been sloppy up front and sloppy at the back. Which is why we're top of the league for points dropped from winning positions. We can get ahead but can't stay ahead due to our defensive fragility and we aren't scoring enough goals to blow teams away.

Reminds of the end of Robson era where the boos at the Wolves game ran into the next season.

The Silent majority said nothing whilst those who were upset made enough noise for the board to act.

No idea how PIF will react as the sacking of Bruce was inevitable but if you want Howe to stay you can't just stay silent at the end of games or walk out with 5 / 10 mins to go

Love Eddie, favourite manager we’ve had and hope he gets a while to turn it around. Think there are too many factors impacting our performances and results that are beyond his control for us to say this is as far as he can take us. Like many I have doubts though and in fairness he’s done bloody well just to still be our manager over four years on given how frequently they change. Good times do come to an end and managers still get sacked from clubs they brought success if their methods no longer seem to be working.

A lot has been said about our attack but I’m surprised not more about our defence. Obviously the full-back situation hasn’t been ideal and Trippier would rarely start games ideally, but we seem to have a group of very good CBs and two keepers that are England standard in theory, but shipping way too many goals even at home.

It also becomes a lot harder to talk about PSR when we lose to Brentford, a team everyone thought was set up to fail this year given last summer. Unfortunately you do have to adapt to your situation and it doesn’t look like Eddie has been doing that nearly well enough all season.

Sacking this season is only a consideration if we look under threat of relegation and I fully back them to sort themselves out if that becomes an option. Personally think he needs the summer and a good clear out and then we can judge him more next season, but he will naturally be under pressure from the off.

I have faith in Howe for sure.

I think the players have been letting him down, bar a few.

Isak has really fucked him over and it'll take a year or two to properly recover from that if I'm honest. We almost got away with it when Woltemade started banging in goals but, once his form dropped, we've looked very toothless.

I guess we decided that having Murphy-but-better was preferable to going a completely different direction with a left-footed RW who primarily wants to cut in.

I was surprised but I suppose we had a formula that was working to get us lots of goals and we wanted to mainly continue it.

Unfortunately, that formula hinged on having a striker who would put the ball in the back of the net. As we know.
