For him to do well we need a lethal winger or two, Bruno and Tonali in the middle then Hall and Livra playing for pace and build up. I think it’s just too hard to make it all work even though if it all went really well it could be incredible.

Yeah, I think we’re supposed to have at least 2 lethal wingers though

Wonder how much better off we'd have been had we signed Calvert-Lewin and Adam Armstrong instead of Woltemade and Wissa?

Not much would be my guess.

Think if Wissa hadn’t suffered a bad injury is the better question.

I thought we should’ve backed away from Wissa in early August when it was obvious Brentford weren’t backing down on price, and there’s was no reason for them to back down on price. We definitely panicked late on with the fee.

I think we need two wingers that can actually cut in though, all of our wingers are right footed.

DCL maybe, but knowing our luck and his injury history he’d have had his leg amputated by week 4.

Armstrong is never a PL player.

He was only out for 2 months, apart from Isak I’ve never seen this been used as an excuse in the past.

DCL didn’t have any preseason either injury prone as fuck and has been fine.

There is only 4 points between 14th and 8th though

The PL campaign is over man. I could just about stomach this during our previous poor runs, when last season's recovery was used as an example. There's 10 games left now, not 18.

Yeah but nobody would care about the fee if he was playing well. And if he’d cost £10m less he’d still be a bad signing with what he’s done so far.

Probably not, but overpaying will negatively affect our future business. We won’t be able to get rid of him and it reduces our headroom to bring in a replacement.

It looked a poor window at the time and it’s looked a worse window now.

Following it up with no window is the wildest bit.

I thought we over paid at the time but I can’t believe how bad he has been.

I’m scarred for life after the summer transfer window.

You mustn't have been a NUFC fan for long if that's the part of our history that's scarred you [emoji38]

Take a trip back in time and you'll realise how good we have it at the moment, despite it being a tough time.

It’s more the sheer amount we spent and how far it could have set us back.

At least when we were shit there were no expectations.

This window could go down as one of the all time fumbles, with the Bale money at least Spurs got Eriksen.

We've now conceded 23 goals at home, joint third most in the league. 11 in the last four matches. We've also scored 8 in those 4 matches, third most in the league, but lost three of games due to conceding 11.

We'll get nowhere shipping so many goals. Other aspects of the team aren't great either, but are secondary to us conceding so many.

Without checking, it seems very Eddie and Bournemouth ish.  From the outside looking in probably expect it to be entertaining but its not been, at least for me.

He wasn't a panic signing in any way, shape or form, though we did overpay thanks to the fact it happened so late in the window.

That fact we overpaid at the 11th hour is that not by definition a 'panic buy'?

Not imo. He was the contingency plan all summer and we signed him the moment we could.
