I do find it a bit mad that PIF don’t get anywhere near the level of criticism that Howe does. They have pretty much done nothing positive for two years. If anything, Howe’s achievements up to now have saved them.

Go to the PIF thread and have a look there.

I have, absolutely nowhere near the level of criticism.

Sorry, I’ve been slacking.

Fuck those useless pricks. Get out of my club.

I don’t see it’s avoidable unless everyone writes ‘in my opinion’ after every sentence.   It’s all just opinion.

the difference being that these analysts present themselves as self-appointed experts whereas people on here generally don’t. Well apart from TCD anyway.

Look back the tune would be completely different if we won the derby. Had we won all the three EPL games (Man Utd Chelsea and Scum) we would be saying Howe has turned the corner.

instead now not only NO here, but everywhere including the management is casting serious doubts over Howe.

That’s why you can’t lose a derby, nevermind twice a season.

Loads of options that people can use to avoid presenting their opinions as if they’re facts, it just involves words like:

maybe, possibly, perhaps, hope, presume, believe, could, should, likely, hopefully, presumably, suppose, doubt, suggest, anticipate, supposedly, unlikely.

All easy to remember and deploy, in my opinion.

Because of the hysterical nature of some ?

Any professional club worth its salt and wanting to be a success would not be making decisions based on losing derby matches in the League. It really “hurts” the fans, but in the context of the club as a whole they are no different to any other loss. Hopefully the club can see that.

We’ve drawn/lost to stubborn, gritty sides enough times

The fact it was Sunderland with a last minute goal obviously pushed people over that emotional negative edge, take the name Sunderland out of that and it’s been more than an okay month

Apart from shipping 7 in the game before Sunderland of course.

Really good analysis

Just watched this then thought lets look at the comments,  Thankfully mostly all positive and agreeing that we simply don't have the squad but always compete in cups..Also speaking to fans at other clubs at work (villa , Man utd, Chelsea) all agreed we'd never be here without him and they'd take him

Might want give Tonali’s mam a ring from the staff room and confirm that it’s definitely her signature on the sick note that Sandro handed in on Sunday morning

Saw the highlights of the Italy game last night. He certainly looked to be in fine form. If Woltemade goes out and scores a hat trick against Switzerland today, I'm gonna scream.

We would have been, and indeed would be, absolutely fucked without him. Not least because he somehow manages to take on, handle, and respond to all of the pressure that's place on his shoulders. He's a fucking inspirational bloke as well as a great football manager.

This season has been shite from the get-go - starting on a proper gut punch to morale as a result of that beardy cunt Mitchell, that lanky Bin Dipping cunt, and the cartel cuck media so desperate to leverage players away. That's not Eddie's fault, man.

I genuinely believe we'll have a good summer and we'll have some positivity flowing about the place come August.

Was thinking the same. Or 2 of the 3 previous home games we lost late on against average sides.

The derby was the straw that broke the camels back for some.

For many. Atmosphere for the remaining home game may well be a bit tetchy I feel. Pretty much everyone I've spoken to since Sunday, many of them match goers, are thoroughly pissed off with things as they are. Another derby capitulation a couple of weeks after yet more huge ST prices hike a lot to swallow for people.

Got to be honest I’m finding it hard to get up for the remaining games. I know Europe is a possibility but we are too inconsistent and I don’t fancy us to win the home games, let alone the aways.

If Howe does stay on I hope we see the big changes in the summer. Things feel stale as fuck.

Botman looked like he had his face broke like a big dent,Don't know if he'll be back in time.

I think the last 7 games will be back to the old Howe, we have played too many games and everyone at the club including the fans are fucking knackered, this three week break is just what we need, looking forward to the summer I reckon we'll see big changes

Club feels in need of a reset. Seems a bit rudderless since Amanda and her hubby left. Didn't notice it at the time but apparently mackems were well represented in the board room on Sunday whereas very little from our side (don't know if this is true just what I'm told).

I live in Wallsend and I work in Killingworth. Pretty much everyone I come into contact with is of an NUFC persuasion. The last time people were this negative about the club was when Ashley appointed Bruce. Atmosphere will be dreadful for the remaining home matches even by recent standards.

It's an absolutely massive summer ahead. Make or break. The club need to show ambition. The higher echelons there need to speak up and not hide away. More correct decisions and fewer wrong ones need to be made to arrest this slide quickly and bring some sort of feeli good factor back. If you're going to keep hitting fans hard in the pocket you need to be giving something back in return.
