My bet is he walks away.

I’ll be really gutted, but I think that’s how it goes this summer.

FFS my weekend fucked already , I'd walk away from football if this happens we really do have to many deluded fans

Throwing around “deluded” because people have a different opinion. Pathetic.

You can be grateful for what Howe’s achieved and also feel that the future isn’t so bright anymore.

Late defeats to average teams, thrown away 20 odd points from winning positions, shite football, awful defensively, same formation every week, ineffective subs, meek defeat in both derby games.

Yes, there are mitigating factors but he isn’t beyond criticism. I wish I had faith that he’d put it right but sadly I don’t, because I’ve not seen any attempt to right those wrongs other than “it hurts, we’ll put it right” from some of the players, but words are meaningless.

Hardly delusional.

Love listening to his measured responses, he certainly has the ability to calm me the fuck down

One thing no one can accuse him of is shying away or not giving his all. I thought the other week maybe he’d walk if we don’t get into Europe but I’m so sure now.

Would love to be proven wrong by him (I was last season), but there’s a lot of changes needed for that to happen imo.

No indication to me anywhere that he might jack it in, if we lose the next 7 he'd probably consider it

I think the only way he walks is if he loses final say on transfers and is under pressure to play certain players in a bid to increase their value. Based on everything he said in his presser, it doesn't sound like that's going to happen. He's realistic about us having to trade players as well by the sound of it so as long as he gets to decide on their replacements, from a pool of scouted players, it sounds like it's business as usual.

There's been quite a few, just with limited success.

What teams in the PL have been playing good football this year?  It's poor all around this year.

Same formation each week is weird thing to state, since we've been playing two games a week for the last 5 months and have no time on the training ground at all.

You don't even mention the huge migrating factors either, the batshit insane summer window and effectively playing with no strikers the entire season.

We've been here before and he sorted out all the issues last time and went on to win a cup.  It's delusional to think someone can walk in and we will be transformed.

Its one thing to lose twice to the mackems and maybe finish behind them, get hammered out of Europe and be generally poor to watch all season......but if we take the points off Forest and West Ham that keeps Spurs up...

The Bournemouth fans talk about how he was burned out after 5seasons there, only Eddie knows if he's conscious of that and the longer game of his career and the limitations were under its not unreasonable that he could walk but the only indications we've had are more tunnel visioned workaholism.

Possibly the best thing is that he takes the foot of the gas for the remainder of this season, delegates to TIndall, Jones or whoever and recharges now. A refreshed Eddie would be as good as anything else.

amen, we can't fuck this up like Keegan or Bobby we really can't . eddies comments do kind of scare me that he might walk away or other clubs have approached him

Tbh, if a club like Man U or Liverpool come in for him, and he decides to walk away, I wouldn't blame him. Not because we've done him wrong, I think he's highly appreciated at Newcastle. But he must have ambitions to work with the best players and not constantly have to worry about having to lose the ones he's got.

Not that different to players moving to fulfil their ambitions and improve their pay, except a manager has a longer shelf life so normally can hope to achieve them without moving at the right club.

Can't use the no striker argument when we spend 115m on 2 and have a £50m striker on the bench every week.

And how good have they been recently.

Neither of them have had a league goal since Christmas.

I mean, part of that is on Howe.

I'm pretty sure Ekitike, Sesko, Mbeumo, Cunha and Delap were his targets.

Sure but he bought them for 150m, and now one is playing in midfield.
