Very true, when we had a bad run at the start of last season plenty dafties wanted him gone and were then made to look very foolish with how the season panned out.  It's almost like they have just been waiting for another bad run so they can stick the boot in again. I know nobody really takes the X lot seriously but some of the stuff you see about Eddie from our so called supporters is truly mind boggling.

I think saying anybody is revelling in it is a massive stretch mind. You're obviously going to get one or two nutters but I think 99% of fans would hope he can turn it round. As a man, he's everything you'd want to represent your club and that's before you even consider what he's given us in 4.5 years.

 

Hoping he can turn it round and believing he can are two completely different things and I think that's where a lot of people sit.

There do seem to be a good number who are more interested in being proven ‘right’ about him and will only give begrudging faint praise moving forward regardless of what happens, if we’re being honest.

I'm hoping for a Claudio Ranieri style turnaround. 4 wins on a trot for now which with a bit of luck would put in some form of European football, then win, win and win next season to win the league.

Nah. Nobody is wanting us to lose the next 4 games just so that they can say they were right about him on a faceless Internet message board like. I'm not having that 

 

I think we're on the decline with him now (still 7 points shy of our 21/22 season total) and so far he's not showing me anything to say he's got the answers to turn things around but there's nowt I'd like more than 4/4 wins to finish the season to give us some hope for 26/27. If we did achieve that and as a result we finish 9th/10th/11th I'd expect him to start next season as our manager and everyone to get behind him. I just don't see it from what I'm watching.

But then there's people who come out in this thread all guns blazing when we've won a game too. Afterall, people always love a pat on the back. Nowt worse than people who point score imo but people love to do it.

 

Either way, I think the vast, vast majority would hope he turns it round and definitely don't want us to lose games to prove a point. That would be ridiculous.

Pointing out that he had bad runs of form before and solved the problem just makes the fact that he is not doing so this time all the more alarming. I’m not seeing it as the gotcha that others evidently do.

What's worrying is in his interviews he sounds as baffled by our dropped points and collapses as he did 3-4 months ago. I get the distinct impression he's at a loss and is hoping for things to just click and get better, and this is why we've been waiting almost all season.

It's why we need the summer window to fix the issues, do trading early and smartly.

This isn't really a judgement or conclusion on my opinion for Howe's future, but I have to say after watching PSG vs Bayern I want that. Obviously we're worlds apart in tactical style, technical ability, player quality, but my lord is it entertaining win-or-lose.

Some are so entrenched in the camp Howe out, genuinely expect them to be resentful should we win some games between now and the end of the season.

Our record, and our games against PSG have all been rather good and entertaining.

Well I assume he knows what's up but can't really come out and say it. Sorting the keeper and striker situation out will go a long way to improving things I reckon, be interesting to see what happens

The players don’t have the desire to turn it around unfortunately. They’ve checked out for the season since we got dumped from the CL and aren’t getting relegated. 
 

(and is exactly the reason I don’t give a fuck if he doesn’t “turn it around before the end of the season” like a lot of people are hanging their hats on)

That’s exactly it.

 

I don’t think many want him gone. Most people would love nothing more than for him to turn it around.

 

But, as you say, hoping and believing are two very different things. Right now we’re stuck in the same predictable 4-3-3, the same like-for-like subs, and some pretty poor in-game management. Finishing the season with momentum is absolutely crucial after a disappointing league campaign, but there’s zero sign of that happening. I genuinely can’t see us getting anything from a flying Brighton unless he actually tries something different.
