Anah. "Eddie clearly refusing to walk away from a £6mil a year contract."

What about the last 4.5 years says he's not hanging around because he's desperate to put the work in turn it around, and believes he can?

He's not here for a payday, he's not stunk the place out with underachievement before this season, he's never a cunt in the press.

He's not Steve Bruce basically so why you talking about him like he is? This is the sort of ugly, disrespectful patter people are on about.

Never said he has - There was a lot of talk of him quitting but it's naive to think money doesn't come into his decision making.   It would for anyone.

Hasn’t he been largely poor since the season he took spurs to the champions league final ?

I was merely saying it was interesting :) - While I agree managers should evolve. I'm not suggesting we change manager.

No, I wasn’t suggesting you were. I was saying he is saying managers should evolve, but the evidence suggests he hasn’t at all.

Not sure how true it is but seen someone on Twitter say we’ve not kept a clean sheet with Burn in the side since 5th November, so I doubt that was the thinking.

Maybe there is something to the hearsay that Hall and Tindall had words at Selhurst Park. Think it was @Paully who mentioned it.

Oooof, that’s a very poor quote from

Howe and also a complete misreading of our defensive issues

Horrid quote. Defence against Chelsea looked the best it had for ages at Chelsea, disrupted the next two games and we looked horrible again.

Hall got hauled at haulf time and hasn’t been seen since and now Howe takes potshots at Lil Lewis via the media

Could easily see both players heavily involved next season. Murphy too. When they should not be anymore than making the numbers up.

Imagine throwing Hall under the bus to protect your shortcomings. He can get fucked with shit like that. Doubt the players will stand for it as they know how good the lad is.

Callum Wilson being lined up on a pay as you play deal to lead the line and Matt Ritchie returning to provide some much needed leadership to a squad who’ve lost their way. You heard it here first

Hm. Yeah that's not a good quote and somewhat concerning.

Yeah, agreed tbh. We don't defend well as an entire unit, and the majority of our problems come from shite ball retention in the first place.

The blame doesn't fall on one or two individuals and the solution is absolutely not moving Dan Burn back to left back.

Doesn’t read well, that.

Posted a while ago about how whatever level you play. Certain players are easier to drop or sub because they’re an easy target or won’t kick up a fuss.

I always thought it was Barnes in our squad. But maybe it’s Hall, as well.

EH said he played Burn vs Arsenal because of his height on the other day. If height and strength is the only thing that he would consider, I wonder why he didn't simply sign some NBA rejects?

"When you play, you have to do enough to stay in the 11" is such a wild quote in this situation that I'm not sure if the context is wrong?

There are players who have given absolutely honking performances over and over and maintained their place in the team - Burn included in that, especially in that exact position earlier in the season.

Hall being dropped after a slight dip in form despite being arguably our best player in the months prior doesn't sit particularly well with me.

It's also concerning to me that he thinks we looked better as a result, as our entire left hand side of the pitch was completely blunt. We only looked better defensively because Arsenal were wank IMO.

Well they aren't registered footballers for starters...

You'll get told off for saying that about Eddie on here.  But you're spot on.  Saying "when you play you have to do enough to stay in the 11" about a player who has been one of the very few shining lights in a sea of shit all season just defies belief

* Poor results

* Poor performances

* Rigid formation

* Shit, predictable subs

* Poor in game management

* Can't rotate a squad

* Can't manage 2 games a week

* Doesn't improve the backroom staff (echo chamber)

* has no faith in youth players

* Only one plan (A)

* £120m worth of strikers on the bench

* Two promoted teams now ahead

* Relegation possible with 4 games to go

* Picking his favourites, even when out of form

* Multiple players wanting to leave

* Throwing young players under the bus in public (who happens to be arguably our best player this season)

* Double derby loss

* 25 points lost from winning positions

* Thinks 6 signings were too much when needing another 9 at least to fix the mess of last summer

That's a lot of wrongs to right, and things to forget about to allow it to continue into next season.

Lewis Hall pocketed Lamine Yamal 52 days ago. We've been shite for longer than 52 days in a season during which Hall's only competition for best player is Bruno. This shit on top of the "Dan has never let us down in that position" quote...Howe is making it very, very difficult to get behind him.

Posted this in the match thread but seems more topical in here.

Hard to underestimate just how important Bruno being back and getting fitter each week will hopefully make to performance and function of the team.

However I'll be really pissed off if he starts Burn instead of Hall.

They seem to be trying to claim last week as a much improved defensive display but for me we looked shaky as fuck in that first half. Madueke was getting in at will past Burn multiple times and that's before we even mention the atrocious nature we conceded. The only reason we didn't concede any more is because Arsenal played with the handbrake on as usual with the added title race anxiety in their legs.

We play a defensive left side of Burn and Botman tomorrow and they will get pulled apart by Brighton's quick movement.

Hall pocketed Yamal for the majority of that first leg vs Barca so I'm not having anyone try and suggest he's a defensive liability compared to Burn.

The other player mentioned, Pope also made errors that led to goals multiple times before he was finally dropped.

Got to be honest my faith in Howe has completely gone. I have seen nothing at all from him and heard nothing at all to suggest he’s the man to turn it around.

The comments the other week about not doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different outcome, when that has been the story of our season.

Doesn’t take Mystic Meg or GregGShore to tell you how we’ll lineup tomorrow.
