Twitter/X seems to have fully turned against Howe. Saw one account saying that they were going to try and get an “Eddie Howe’s a wanker” chant going.

Sad times.

Window lickers.

Current levels of negativity are almost surpassing the Ashley era. Perhaps we are the most fickle, entitled bunch of fans in the PL. Pretty horrific for a club thats historically mid/lower first division or second division, despite recent investment.

I wouldn’t take Twatter as a litmus test for anything other than how broken peoples’ mental health is.

Absolute nonsense mind, I'm first to call out atmosphere/support but why are supporters getting called fickle or entitled for being worried about our position, we could be 9 points behind Sunderland later today so people being negative I imagine is expected.

Also why do people read into these stupid troll accounts?

I'm fully backing Eddie and the lads and majority are but I'm not sure how fans are deemed as fickle for being concerned that we could be 16th by end of the weekend. There's no club that would go from 5th one season to 15th/16th with 4 games left to play and have fans worried, that just football.

Gallows humour. We’ve lost 5 out of the last 6 PL home games, it’s hardly going to be bounce up to the ground in a party mood against a known bogey team top of the form table.

But that isn’t what we are historically - our average finish is just shy of 14th, which would place us 9th in the overall average in English football.  There’s only 8 clubs with a better average.

The ‘entitled’ shite is what really gets my hackles up - I never see any other group of fans get this accusation levelled from elsewhere in the same way.  It’s laced with a sneering regionalism.  Fuck that.

Point me in the direction of this will you please. Going to get myself on there and give them a bit of well deserved shit.

Just have to read some of the takes on here.  Trying to discredit everything about him, despite 4 seasons of progress.  One bad season, for many reasons outside his control, is enough for some to completely turn on him.

Well you can argue that it’s the PIF that tell him no major rebuild is allowed. Howe has no choice but to find excuses for PIF. Who knows.

That would be due to the restrictions put in place in that case. The money is peanuts for PIF.

It's just a random twitter account, you'll find all sorts of weird stuff on social media at any time for any topic.

Sadly we're going to attract plenty of eFans now who couldn't find Newcastle on a map and latched onto us in the initial upswing, they've thought they were getting in early in supporting the next Man City and they've never seen the bad times let alone been to Newcastle. Most probably aren't even in the UK.

I can't say their opinion is of any interest to me.

Hateful fan base tbh. In the Pardew era I was travelling up on a freebie now and again, it's when I lost connect with the match going fanbase. Seeing protesters in SJP actively threatened for doing so absolutely ruined me. From passive to pathetic.

Just as likely the negativity comes off the pitch into the stands. Seen some of that recently. Not see anything from the fans filtering to the players. Crowd have been more positive than the situation deserves.

Really?
