What's that spend compared to the big 5?

I'm guessing KKs spend was higher in comparison with the competition.

Unless it's your first season watching football I'm not sure why you'd put any stock into a final game of the season away from home with nowt to play for.

It was shite but it was the standard everyone on the beach performance you see from loads of clubs every season in a similar position. It sounds like there was plenty today in the other games as well.

It was a performance we've seen best part of 20 times this season like. If you think that's a one off cos there was nowt to play for you couldn't be more mistaken if you tried.

I found his choice not to play Gordon odd- I get he is probably gonna be off in the Summer but he's still our player, the club are still paying his wages.  The priority should have been trying to finish as high as possible and to do that you play your best players.

Not if they’re going to half ass it.

He's a lame duck. He really, really needed a performance today but instead we got that and now have a tidal wave of negativity surrounding the entire club.

We really could spiral into a catastrophic situation next season. At some point in the season the owners will realise he needs to go but they will be terrified to do it as there won't be an obvious top quality replacement available.

It seems they are giving him a pass, purely based on the fact that they themselves fucked up last summer. Absolute fucking madness.

At this point the bloke is simply a bluffer who has the media wrapped around his little finger.

Hysterical and entitled fannies like you make me ashamed to support this club nowadays in all honesty.

Disappointing and brutal season. Isak, 58 games, Wissa, terrible goalkeepers - plus a manager who couldn't find a solution. The result being a very mixed bag with some highs and a lot of painful lows.

Personally won't put too much weight into anything that happened after the Nou Camp. Prior to then, everything was in our hands but that night was a wrecking ball to the season.

He isn't going anywhere (rightly so, imo, though that's not a military-grade position), so all we can do is look forward to a reshuffle and a fresh start. Hopefully he can find his mojo again with a refreshed squad.

Hopefully people won't be complete cunts about a man who has delivered more than we could've realistically dreamed of, just for having the gall to deliver a sub-par league performance. But I won't hold my breath.

Bang on

He’s managed in the champions league. And got us further than any other manager we’ve had.

Same as Sir Bobby. A game away from the Quarters.

Goes up every time I see this. Just the 200 million out. That's before adjusting for inflation, the context of what other clubs were spending when we were under Keegan for example, the context of what the squad was like on each manager's arrival, and what we achieved with what was spent.

Don’t think we’ll be anywhere near the champions league places next season tbh, so the whole ‘will Howe be good enough again to balance competitions’ is a moot point for me.

TBF hes  got until the end  of October, if it hasn't massively improved hes gone

Didn't folks want him to experiment? I was alright trying a 3-5-2 in the first, our wingers have largely been shit all season. I felt that would be Hall's best position too as he's definitely still a work in progress defensively. He was as poor LWB as he was elsewhere.

Regardless of what happens with Howe, this summer needs to be sharp for recruitment. We need some strong characters through the door - we are piss weak. Clear the busted flushes/wantaways and get 3 or 4 really good buys and we'll see a massive difference imo.

I like that we're targeting young profiles again but we do need to keep a mix imo. Hope we don't go too far the other way.

Yes KK was the biggest spender in the league.

I liked the set up and team vs wham last week. Yet he brings back Murphy and Burn, not good enough and some strange comments post match

So he's started with a squad that had Darlow, Dummett, Manquillo, Clark, Fernandez, Hayden, Shelvey, Ritchie, Fraser, Gayle, etc, has spent the same or less than the big 5 teams, and has had us on their coattails for 3 out of 4 seasons? Got you.

Yes.

On this specific issue I am just saying how much he spent, I am not commenting on anything else.

Same wins as Bournemouth and the Mackems but loads more losses. 22/23 was built on being absolutely rock solid. We’re so easy to beat, we need to get back to that solid footing and grind out draws where necessary

But it's an irrelevant comment in that case.

That season we drew a lot of games we should have won. This season we've lost a lot of games we should have drawn.
