My marquee signing in FM20 Mobile, he’s been amazing.

He was probably featured in the general football thread from around a year ago. Walked off the pitch after having chairs thrown at him and racist abuse.

I’d say Porto are desperate to sell which is why the low ball bid.

He’s not a bad player at all. Strong, decent pace. Will miss his fair share of chances though. Overall better than what we have. He would certainly take the pressure off Joelinton in having to play a role that blatantly isn’t suited to him.

Having a set of strikers that either can't stay fit or cannot score at least 1 in 4 going into the next season for anyone that still cares is asking for trouble. Marega if it is true which I struggle to believe but his stats seem to suggest he is head and shoulders above what we have. Issue with any striker we bring in is the style of play or lack their of and players they work alongside. Unless we buy someone that generates and scores their own chance I can see anyone struggling.

Marega is the type of striker that would work for the way Bruce plays to be fair.

He's got power and pace and although I wouldn't necessarily describe him as clinical, his style will make defences very uncomfortable and it will lead to chances out of nothing and goal scoring opportunities for the team on the whole. He should also get an okay number of goals himself as his record is solid in that regard.

The overall effect is similar to what you might expect from adding the likes of Callum Wilson and Josh King who we have also been linked with, but Bournemouth are ridiculously asking for £30 million for each and so those are not happening.

It's a massive indictment of Bruce that he seemingly has no idea what to with our two most talented defenders - Lejeune and Schar

He does know what to do with them. Get rid.

Tbf, those type of defenders are not much use for his style of play, which will be cloggers at the back clogging, and big lads at the front barging.

Rob Holding on loan apparently. British, on loan and injury prone..so it makes sense

Absolutely no idea why we wont get willems back. Seems like he will crawl over broken glass to get here and apparently his club is willing to let him go for free a year early.

Focus on the word 'British'.

Bruce is an old fashioned British manager, tbh it makes perfect sense for him to be wanting British/Irish players to make up his squad. Fish and chips on the bus home, then a pie and pint in the Pig and Whistle afterwards. Will be good for team bonding.

No point for a loan of Holding if there's not an option to buy!

Good defender and if we could sell Lejuene(injury prone) and Schar(not suited in a back 4) for decent money we could reinvest that in the striker department.

Would love to see:

Marega

Brewster(loan, option to buy)

Willems(loan, sign on a free when contract ends)

Harry Wilson(loan, option to buy)

Holding has the potential to easily become Newcastle’s best defender, but what’s the point on loaning him?

Arsenal don't want to sell.

I get that. Why do we want to loan? To sell our best defenders and survive with loanees?

Even though a 15m striker and a few cheap loans is what some small newly promoted club would do that would resemble a really good window for us in the state we are in now but we all know we won’t even end up having a window half as good as that. It’s an utter disgrace. If we are acting like tramps we could at least get some exciting young players in on loan but we don’t even do that

Arsenal don't want to sell.

Don't think that's the case as they have William Saliba returning from his loan at Saint-Etienne and Gabriel Magalhães set to join from Lille.

In addition they have Luiz, Sokratis, Mari, Chambers and Mustafi still.

We're likely just being cheap, and don't want to get locked in to any agreement until next summer. Schar and Clark are going into their last years and so  paying a fee for a centre back likely makes more sense then.

That we’re being linked with so many defenders suggests that they’re going to cash in on someone, I’d say Lejeune might be one who Bruce isn’t a fan of, Schär too maybe but he’s only got himself to blame there, rubbish in the last few games.

Not sure being frozen out then thrown into the midfield helped.

One of those two makes most sense. Still the least problematic area of our team to be buying players.
