Well, I know through a few good sources, as in direct from players or

those that are close to them, friends or family members. That top level footballers (our players included) do in fact get pissed up during the season.

I’m not saying I agree with it or that it is ideal from an optimal performance standpoint. But the season goes August to May, then assuming no international tournament. Back in for pre-season in like late June?

To quote Sir Bobby “They can’t be monks, we don’t want them to be monks, we want them to be football players. Because a monk doesn’t play football at this level.”

If that's true, I stand corrected. Actually I'm struggling to find any info on that, other than certain players like Kane and Haaland saying that they never drink during a season. I knew that players get drunk off season, that's not uncommon. But during a season is news for me. Maybe they just usually keep a low profile.

Maybe some do, some don't. I'd put money on the majority do to at least some extent.

I think it’s ridiculous for a lot of to sit around and judge these “old” lads for having a drink.

They’ve committed their entire life to being a professional footballer. I can’t imagine the sacrifices that is when all your mates are out boozing and jealous about you at the same time.

Now these kids are expected to be holier than though because that’s what it requires to make it to the big time.

Whilst we are in the stands shouting at them to close them down after we’ve had 4 pints.

Tripps has been a hero for us, if he wants to get pissed, go for it.

Should look up what James Harden would do the night before a game.

We should get back to having cigarettes in the wardrobe at halftime.

It's arguably worse to do it the older you get. It affects your body much worse. How many older players came out and praised Wenger for improving and prolonging their careers by getting them to stop drinking and eat more healthy?

Maybe I've missed some recent posts, but I haven't seen any holier than thou stuff. Just people correctly recognising that it isn't good nor professional for an elite athlete to get pisssed in general whether it's Trippier or anyone else.

Personal issues.

I would describe his shagging about behind his Mrs back as more him being a fucking idiot than calling it personal issues mind . He can do what he wants in his spare time but he has let us down massively this last year or so.

He was our main creative hub. Look very workman like without him.

He's a massive reason for our drop off, I mean FFS he made almiron look decent for 6 months. Our patterns of play seems to have all but disappeared with Trips as well.

He needs to be playing really, he's the only real top-level experienced head we have.

Surely the personal life stuff is exaggerated though, it wouldn't destroy his game. Whatever has happened, he needs to knuckle down for the rest of the season and the management needs to remind him of the massive responsibility he has in this squad.

Was consistenly top 2 in the league in chances created. I remember us even tricking opponents to think we were going through the middle, just to quickly switch over to the right, so that we could set him up with some space through a few quick moves. It's like our entire attacking setup often revolved around making sure they couldn't stop him from doing his thing, because when he could, we would have a big chance every time.

The biggest problem now would probably be his pace and stamina. He used to do so much running in our setup.

To be fair I know a lot of cunts that is still able to perform brilliantly at their work even if they shagged someone’s wife last night.

Unfortunately seems like Trip is not one of them.
