Smal
it’s absurd when he plays like that. His decision making and use of the ball is so much better than anyone else I’ve seen play for us.

wormy
Never thought I'd say this but thank God for the international break.
Keggy_Keagal
Trippier being top drawer isn't new, but his reading of the game is at times supernatural. Also, someone needs to put the clip of the corner flag nutmeg moment.
Conjo
Inch by inch getting closer to a goal. If he could wait until the Milan game that would be great.
gbandit
Thought he had a fantastic game tonight, his trapping of a ball and first touch is exceptional. I know it’s been said a lot but it can’t be praised enough, it is a huge reason for why he manages to start so many attacks for us
McDog
My work mate who lives in Leeds said yesterday when we were chatting he thought Newcastle were amazing these days and that Trippier was their best signing in turning everything around. pedro111
He was fucking immense tonight. Pure aggression chanelled properly on more than one occasion and sorted Garnacho out in an old school way and his reading of the game was different class. Kid Icarus
Seriously, who's the better RB out there at the moment?
Stottie
Every opponent will now know how we play and how key Trippier is to it. That they still cannot stop it just shows how good we and he are at it.

Smal
mildly interesting stat whilst browsing some fbref: Trippier (111) has attempted the most crosses in the premier league this season by quite a distance: But NUFC (205) have attempted the 2nd fewest crosses in the league:
Smal
Also this is fun: 5ft 8" and the 5th best aerial percentage in the league

Said it in his thread but Livramento, even out of position, really helps give us balance down the flanks. Edited December 5, 2023 by thomas

Also will be marking the oppositions biggest aerial threat at set pieces, whereas Trippier will likely be on someone shorter.

This also doesn't account for letting an attacker head a ball while subtly putting him off balance....or many other factors really...
Kanji
Trippier's first touch feels fake; its always in stride.

Don't think I've seen anyone take a first touch better since Ben Arfa (Stoke 3-0 at home always springs to mind).
SteV
Mahrez has the best first touch I can recall (quite possibly some recency bias there), like silk. But agree, Trippier’s is phenomenal as well, often allows him to get 2 or 3 extra yards away from someone closing him down, which then allows him half a second extra to pick out a perfect pass. Kanji
I don’t think I’ve seen anyone take a switch into stride and perfectly weighted for the next action.
