If you ever need an indication of just how wounded they’ve become by the FA Cup match, have a gander at their club / fan meeting. Personal favourites include:

- Easier to buy an NUFC shirt in Sunderland than an NUFC one

- Wanted to make the NUFC fans feel at home because they were paying £600 a ticket in the BCB

These minutes really are gold. The derby broke them.

This was the opening statement:

We are not swayed by extreme points on social media - that should never be the barometer of fan feeling – but we are very confident in what the mood of the majority of the fanbase is. The Emirates FA Cup third round tie was a complete mess, and whilst this debacle alone has had an impact on how supporters perceive the way our Club is run, it has also brought into focus what are now long-standing concerns. The message from fans to the owners and decision makers at the Club is very clear. We have had enough. We have had enough of being taken for granted. We have had enough of being an afterthought. We have had enough of "pound-shop" merchandise - when it's actually in stock. We have had enough of a level of customer service that would make a League Two Club blush. We had enough of the lack of pride in the Stadium and in the Institution that is SAFC. We have had enough of decisions that walk all over the sensibilities and pride of generations of Sunderland supporters.

They are mad about:

  • the allocation
  • Black Cats bar being open at all
  • Speaking directly to the owner: he, and the management team, had completely misjudged the importance of an SAFC versus NUFC derby, both today and historically. This decision, and its consequences, will be thrown in the faces of Sunderland fans forever and is one of the worst decisions the Club has made since taking over the Club.
  • An emergency board meeting was held when the bar pictures started coming out

Contrary to what they may think, I've not gave the derby a second thought since[emoji38]

It really was just a horrible distraction at a time when bigger problems were at play.

If they'd have won, they'd feel a lot different about the club ownership and manager. At best it would be 'we shouldn't have gave them that end' but they'd be marvelling in everything else including fleecing us of all the money they charged for their bar area - was literally a thread on RTG entitled 'fleecing the Mags' where many were enjoying that.

If you didn't know better you'd think that events concerning NUFC were a major factor in decision making and outlook on things there.

I reckon a collective depression has been generated by our defeating them . It suddenly brought into focus the gap between the teams and the two leagues . Realisation that they arent getting anywhere near us ever again has made some of them question the wisdom of supporting a forever going nowhere club .

Have they mentioned klopp as a potential next manager given he'll be free at the end of the season and how he might relish taking over a sleeping giant with the best supporters in the world?

Pritchard been offered a new contract but Mowbray wants him at brum. Be interesting to see what happens there. He's a good player for them, but can't be relied on and whilst playing well it might be a good time to get a fee for him.

Luke Thomas of Leicester rejects them to join Boro on loan. At one point Chelsea were after him and Leicester were hoping for Gordon fees.

Not yet, however in a 300 post thread about Klopp guess how long it took them to mention us ?

Something just occurred to me about this lot; they seem to have a history of signing the shit brother of good players.

Jobe Bellingham, Anton Ferdinand, Lee Howey...

You could argue the had the worst Caldwell also. Gary had more top flight appearances, played more European games and won more medals than Stephen.

Let's not be too harsh. They did once have Justin Hoyte who was better than his brother Gavin.

They did have the worse Lua Lua too though.

Am I missing something? Why is Brendan Rodgers being described as the mag saviour?

The tit is that desperate to get an anti Newcastle dig in he's jumped in feet first by thinking Klopp took over from Rafa

Expect them to bid for Chris Willock in the near future.

"JG concluded that he has been a supporter for over 50 years and before Christmas, he was very enthusiastic about the season. However, the NUFC arrangements and off-field changes have now resulted in him feeling deflated and he no longer looking forward to games, home or away, which he suspects is a sentiment shared by thousands of others."

That’s the most mackem thing I’ve ever seen.

Undoubtedly, Gary also had a lot more Scotland caps (including scoring the winner against recent WC finalists France). Think it was just age and timing that meant Steve broke through for us unlike Gary.

S.Caldwell was bloody useless. Genuinely one of the slowest footballers I’ve ever seen and his judgement did nothing to compensate for it.

His most memorable moment in a Newcastle game was clattering into another mackem to allow Luque through to wrap it up.

Remember Caldwell nearly scoring a diving header OG away to Soton in 02/03. Mad to think we finished 3rd with him, OBrien, Dabizas and Bramble.

not sure if that says more about the quality of the league or Robsons ability as a manager.
