While I know the history of ‘COWIES’ on the Sunderland shirt (and you’d think they wouldn’t want that man’s name on the shirt), that word meant transport in the ‘80s but meant something very different in the NE from the ‘90s on …

… I’d have got it changed to ‘Speckled Mitzis’ or something

I’m willing to bet that most football fans view Leeds as the biggest / most glamourous club in that division

20 years ago maybe....now no one really cares who's in the division unless an established PL club goes down.

What a shame it's a sellout and will have nearly 20,000 extra fans in attendance [emoji38]

And the landfill bit ? Their ground was literally that.

The capital of empty seats is the stadium of shite and has been for decades but according to the morons from wearside, expanding it is the answer.

Tomorrow night will show this exactly, third in the league and they will be lucky to have 30,000 there (obviously the official attendance will be the usual lies. Whereas, just down the road there will be a sell out for a League 2 side (not wanting to be disrespectful to Wimbledon).

Attendance threads every home game, despite the proven bullshit for their official attendances. Cheap season tickets and tickets given away; as their accounts fully demonstrate with mid table revenue levels for the Championship.

Daft twat doesn't even read the post made two posts before his. Thick as fuck man. They will be making every excuse going as the fewm boils over

In the same circumstances, if they were playing Wimbledon tomorrow night in the League Cup at a week's notice they would have a 4 figure crowd tomorrow. No doubt about it.

That's the difference between us and them.

It's quite shameful if they don't have a bigger attendance than ourselves tomorrow night. Best start to the season in years Vs hastily rearranged 3rd round League Cup tie against L2 opposition.

Onviously they couldn't due to capacity, but your point more than stands up,, when there will be nearly 20,000 (actual not their shite official figure) less fans in their stadium

They are clueless, on about getting 55k crowds if they were on the Premier League.

The last time they were in it, they got nowhere near it. Even they themselves have the figures, and the average price of a match day ticket when they have only the lower bowl open is £11, it drops to £9 when the upper bowl is open. This is because of the amount of free tickets they offer out.

They are going on about Leeds upping capacity to about that, saying it’s justified. Leeds have 20k fans on a season ticket waiting list, that’s how they can justify it.

I’m a firm believer that football has become more popular, and if they got into the Premier League, they could get more through the door. I do however doubt that it would even be enough to sell out the SOL.

They are even trying to justify it by saying Kyril Dreyfus will want them being the best and putting money in. It was only a couple of months ago they were calling him worse than shit, saying he’s not interested in them anymore etc. It’s amazing what a few wins, and I also suspect talk of our stadium expansion/new stadium will do to them.

They are on there crying about poor ticket sales for tomorrow night's match (there'll be well under 30k actually present) and are saying the club should have done a ticket deal as they're playing 2 home games in 5 days (hasn't affected us playing 2 home games in 4 days but there you go) and yet in the next breath clamouring for a capacity increase.

I know we say it often but they must be the thickest fanbase out there. They prove it time and time again.

It would be funny to finally after about 25years and a thousand games get a better gate than your 'rivals' - fkin hell, its not even funny being on the completely dominant side of that point.  You know what they're like - it'd be like the 25years and thousand examples to the contrary never existed. Shame its 1001 and a counting.
