I reckon 95% of Makams will be secretly dreading going into the premiership IF it ever happens, the decline, neglect & chancing owners have left them in a dreadful position financially, operationally & structurally.

With their loan players, Ballard, O'Nein & Co they will be a good bet to beat their record low points total (19) in my book, the idiots

Eh?

Even if they get battered, the finances they will gain makes no sense for them to "dread" going into the Prem

Plus playing us will make their year

Not if we howk them to buggery, like we did last time at the Stadium of Walkers

Plus this loan player arguement is pathetic. Methhead and Aragons great granda are hardly irreplacable with £120m arriving regardless of what happens, am sure they would improve on them somehow

They've already beaten that. They went down with 15 points a few years later.

Don't think they'll be looking forward to playing us like. Of course they'll want promotion, no team doesn't want to be in the PL. But the last thing they'll want is to come up against us when they know they will get a good hiding. They've lived off the Pardew years for a decade until we put them right in the cup.

If they got promoted and beat us they would take that even if it means coming straight back down. It could happen as well look at Luton last season who were awful but still took 4 points off us .

Sheffield would be joint top without that points deduction and Leeds will surely hit a bit of consistency at some point, hopefully they both can finish in the top two as after that it's hard to see anyone else finishing above them . Burnley should be doing better and might improve if they get shot of Parker but that's about it .

The finances the club may or may not gain wont affect the fans (Makams) I'm eluding to, its them that will be dreading playing week in week out & being battered, the financial gain wont gloss over the weekly embarrassment they are nailed on to be exposed to, the "higher uppers" wont mind of course

I worked in Sunderland up until a year ago, some of the lads there didn’t want to go up from the play offs when they got beat off luton, or said that at least, as they felt it was too soon. can’t really be too fussy about when you get promoted like, just look at boro

If we were top of the league after 14 games and people were saying 10 out of 14 were against poor opponents we’d be saying they’re just idiots so why say it yourself?

Plus the bottom half teams change week by week. By Monday they might have played 8 bottom half teams in their first 15 games.

Might, might not, but at this present time they are in the bottom half

Unusual et of opening fixtures they've had tbh. Played all of the shit away and barely been tested against the top half. Still very early days for them but they'll all get carried away regardless but fair play, can only beat who is in front of you at the time

All of the bottom 8 still to play at home, two more away games than home. Some 'decent' teams they still haven't played but overall they're looking in good nick.

I genuinely do think the league is weak this year. The three relegated teams were last years promoted teams. Everyone around them will struggle for consistency. As good of a chance as ever to go up.

Look I know they are top of their inferior league but quite frankly it's a bit of a mystery how they are there.  For a "top of the league" team they are very ordinary/average.  What I mean is they aren't steam rolling other teams.  I haven't checked but they have only really dominated in a couple of games all season.  It's certainly the case in the games I have witnessed (on tv).

The Hull manager even came out with "we have just been beaten by a very average team".  It wasn't sour grapes by the manager, he was just amazed that this team sitting on top of the league were nowt special.

My prediction is that this lucky streak will not last and most importantly their squad is threadbare.  They will be lucky to finish in the play offs is my opinion.

Imagine having a West Brom season ticket! And they’re somehow fifth 🤯

That's awful that. 2 goals in 7 games and are 5th.

Apologies for being pathetic, there is absolutely zero guarantee they will spend anything even IF they ever did fluke their way out of the shite hole league they seem indeterminabley stuck in, there are far too many chancers deeply ensconced in the place to warrant investment in anything other than their dividend & loan repayments.

Speaking to some Sunderland supporting family of mine - it’s mainly down to getting structure and an identity about their play but mainly tightening up the defence. Eight clean sheets then only conceding a single goal for another three games out of your first 14 games will give you every chance to pick up points.
