They still hate us , I work in Boro and they were absolutely desperate for Liverpool to beat us in the final and are gutted that we won. It's just such a weird one way rivalry. They also reckon they would never accept Saudi money like we have .

They already have. The Saudi’s bought a company at Teesport and it’s now part of SABIC.

Wouldn't worry about either of those. I watch Berwick often and their home crowd is basically split between actual Berwick fans and NUFC!

 

Was at Carlisle last season and ended up un the Beehive pub over the road from the ground and in the toilets there was loads of stickers on the walls with the message "If you see a mackem, smack 'em!".

 

They'll have to look South if they're after forming some anti mag alliance. I would also say East but that damn North Sea scuppers that.

When the club replatformed the front end of the website, this is exactly what should have happened at the time. Rather shocking as someone who works in the space and has done similar activities for Roma and Chelsea.

Because ‘Black Cats’ is weird and embarrassing and so obviously a recent neologism, ‘Mackems’ was meant as an pisstake of their accent (and older folks from Sunderland may still take umbrage at its use), and ‘Rokerites’ is no longer applicable.
