Optimistic Nut Posted Tuesday at 15:08 Share Posted Tuesday at 15:08 25 minutes ago, Stifler said: I’m not sure about Birmingham City to be honest. Some teams have steamrolled their way out of League One and flopped in the Championship, others have dogged their way out of it and done back to back promotions. I actually think Sunderland will win the play offs. The only team there who I thought would beat them would be Burnley, and it looks like them and Leeds are getting promoted, both teams can actually secure it if they win their respective games on Good Friday and Bank holiday Monday. So yeah, I think Sunderland will beat whoever they get in the semi’s over 2 legs, and likely play Sheffield United in the final, which I think they’ll win. I think Birmingham will get to at least the Play-Offs. They have the backing, they spent £20m almost on a player in League 1. They clearly have ambition with the stadium plans. They'll be in there. ramirez Posted Tuesday at 15:32 Share Posted Tuesday at 15:32 Listened to a podcast today about the 1985 league cup final, I didn't know a lot about it but the guest was a local player and sound bloke to be flair who was blamed for Norwich's winner and was subject to constant abuse, including a broken eye socket, in 'sun'lun', not just the foreign lads who have felt the wearside wrath: https://www.theguardian.com/football/2020/nov/08/torment-catharsis-sunderland-david-corner-1985-league-cup-final

Chicken Dancer Posted Wednesday at 22:52 Share Posted Wednesday at 22:52 Funny the money argument man. For one, we’ve not spent that much yet, and secondly, if it was that easy why aren’t Man Utd and Chelsea not pissing the league. Fucking idiots

Izakaya Posted Thursday at 00:18 Share Posted Thursday at 00:18 Absolutely love when they ask why a mag is commenting when the match is on, as if they aren't the ones with a 30 page thread about a team they don't care about in a league they don't play in. I'll give it a shot... Will have to watch my blood pressure though... The sunlun salt mines are replete with the saltiest of morsels, betwixt which lieth the nuggets of nonsense, the hors d'oeuvres of hilarity & the amuse-bouche of agonised acceptance. One can really over do it on such fine dining, if one is not careful. Ergo my visits to & subsequent reviews of the salt mines may be limited to those occasions where the banquet of buffoonery on offer is so irresistible, that I'll simply have to reserve a table. But at the rate Newcastle are going, I fear for my figure... "Finally Monsieur, an angry litany of jibes at yet another sublime toon win, barely concealed by wafer-thin veiled comments about geopolitics, ham-fisted into keyboards by a spiteful herd of waterheads..." GallowgatePigeon Posted Thursday at 05:28 Share Posted Thursday at 05:28 It never ceases to amaze me that the fans of a team sitting 4th in the Championship and haven't set foot in the PL since 2017 are constantly lambasting the quality of the PL and talk as if they'd comfortably finish in the top half with their current squad which is littered with 20-40million players. I must've missed the part where the last 6 promoted teams have been immediately papped back down to the Championship without so much as a whimper.
