The Prophet
Fair fucks to them for being in European contention like. I've written them off all season, but it's been the perfect storm of grinding out results early doors and the league table being as tight as it is for a long while. I clearly haven't learned as I think both them and Leeds will struggle next season, but didn't expect them to be anywhere near Europe this season so I'm probably well off. Aye I think they'll struggle in the league next season too, you'd imagine there'll be quite a lot of interest in their players over the summer and it could quickly become disruptive for them. Scary thing is though, if they get ECL I wouldn't put it past them to win it even if that happens.
Danh1
My mate who wanted them to come up for 6 easy points now wants them to get Europe as it’ll relegate them. Probably be wanting them to win the league next….

Pinned down and whacked with a pillowcase filled with a bar of soap by the rest of us who knew the hillbillies coming up was a bad idea.

Tisd09
Imagine the mental gymnastics if they win the ECL when they have trashed our League Cup win If we did somehow make the Conference League next season I would want us to win it and I would be over the moon if we did. The six point patter was absolute lunacy!

TBG
Sunderland getting Europe will be good for the area, and by area, I mean Newcastle as we'll have another set of away fans stopping in town.
Fenham Mag
They’d fit right into the conference league. An Albanian hell hole will make them feel just at home.
Paullow
With us playing Fulham on the final day, and thus, both can't win, they have now mathematically secured an impressive 4th top flight top 12th finish since 1956, 70 years ago.
Optimistic Nut
You'd think European football is very important for someone like Chelsea with the number of players they have, just to give game time? Think they'll get at least a draw up at Sunderland.

Le Bris is a good tactician, he'll have his team prepped and I don't trust Chelsea not to go there and get beaten at all.
Wallsendmag
Chelsea always seem to be a team the mackems do well against, especially in relation to the levels both teams have been at the past 25 or so years.

Aye, I remember them virtually relegating us under Rafa and they were 2-1 down at HT and won 3-2 - sure I was at Villa that day and we drew 0-0? Think they were the 1st team to beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge under Mourinho as well. Even going back to the 91/92 season when they got to the Cup Final as a Div 2 team, they knocked out Chelsea in the quarters at Joker Park. Already beat them at Stamford Bridge this season. Just always seem to be one of those teams they do well against even although the odds are rarely in their favour.
Sidg
As funny as it would be to finish higher than them in their best season in years, a season so bad for us that many supporters wanted Howe to pay for it, we really don't deserve it. Our pathetic and unforgivable displays in the derbies should make the difference in what ultimately is a mundane "battle" between midtable sides. I take no pleasure in that, obviously. I think they'll get the result they need. Chelsea are shit.

I think they'll get the result they need. Chelsea are shit. I’m not that arsed about finishing above them to be fair. It hurt to lose to them twice; I felt like a feral berserker after the home loss! (Odd what it brings out in you). But in the wider scheme of things I can appreciate they have had a great season; for them. It won’t be their best but think it will be in their top three in the PL era, which says everything really. They must have been shitting themselves starting this season with a load of newbies after scraping promotion whilst really struggling to score goals. They have by most standards (I mean, could have been better, e.g. we once finished third after being promoted) over performed, signed some players who have been good enough and beaten us twice. Great effort and a manager who looks like he knows how to get a tune out of what he has got. Next season is ‘second album’ time, but who knows. Given what the fanbase have been through (obviously, they are not all RTG-stylee fuckwits) and a penchant for the underdog, a tiny bit of me can’t help being pleased for them. Bragging rights should be a long game really, one which, for anyone who is aware of and can hold in mind, the last thirty years, we have comfortably won. We’ll see them again next year and let’s see how we all feel after that.
GWN
Agree with above, not impressed with them so that says loads about us.Table doesn't lie, ever so fair play to the fuckers, they will draw tomorrow 1-1, not sure what that gets them but we need to start bossing them next season and put them back in their doom box. Fuck them
Paully
Never been on SMB for ages but thought I’d see their reaction to the England squad and it was exactly as I expected! Seemingly Dan Burn is the worst CH in the league and Luke O’Thug should be in the squad! Keith at his bitterest best as well!
