Yeah, its not much of a story really (surprise surprise for the Chronic!).

Apparently the Saudi guy is looking to invest into an English club, and its basically some financial expert (agreeing with what SJ said) suggesting the likes of Sunderland (because of the Netflix exposure) or Sheff Wed would be a better acquisition than the likes of Leeds who are out of his price range. Reckons either would still cost at least £100m though.

Sheffield Wednesday are probably the biggest and possibly last of the English sleeping giants who could be bought.

West Ham are going through their gradual takeover, Leeds have their 49’s takeover, and Everton have just had theirs.

 

Sunderland have a big stadium, but the fans will only turn up to a sellout once in a blue moon, and need to be handed tickets for free and discounted rates to keep their figures in line with clubs of a similar stature.

Can you imagine what will happen if they came up and suddenly faced ticket prices like we and others do?
