I'm no Ramsdale fan, but "been relegated with 3 clubs" is a daft point to make.

He also got to 2nd with Arsenal and was in the TOTY only a couple of years ago.

Howe 'got Bournemouth relegated',

Klopp 'got Mainz relegated'

Moyes 'got Sunderland relegated' 🤭

Pope was relegated with Burnley

Daft point to make.

To be fair, they are obsessed with relegation.

… and he was shipped out as he was deemed not good enough, since then its proven to be the right decision as he’s went onto be relegated twice, out of the England squad and ultimatley not particulaly sought after.

He’s not horrendous, but as mentioned above he isn’t going to improve you nor do I think he’s better than what you already have.

Hes better than Dubravka. When you are achieving a decent standard, it becomes more and more difficult to find quality that makes the difference. Arsenal signed Kepa, as an example.

Goalkeepers like Allison and Ederson dont grow on trees and you are lucky if you get one.

Weve had to accept lesser quality, fine but hes still a good keeper and still better than your keeper.

‘he’s still better than your keeper’ [emoji38]

You would hope so, You are in the CL ffs.

He’s no better than Pope, Has been relegated three times and openly spoke about not being able to concentrate for the length of a game.

Amazed your spinning his signing as a positive to be honest, but each to their own.

We’ll see.

The concentration thing is ridiculously overblown. It was a throwaway (albeit it silly) comment, that has no basis in actual performance.

Imagine thinking an established PL, England goalkeeper is going to be leaning on his post, half asleep and when the ball comes.

They’ve spent money. Don’t know if any of it is on good players. Or players good enough to stay in the league. Not sure Xhaka by himself is enough pl experience. The manager has zero of it and really struggled at times last season. Still think they’ll go down.

He’s played like that for the last few years tbf.

No he hasn’t.

It’s just social media driven bollocks, but if you want to go along with it, more fool you.

Now you are just lying. Hes was absolutely fine for Southampton last year, despite being peppered all season.

He was shipped out as number 1 by a team looking to win the league, we're bringing him in on loan with no obligation as an upgrade on Dubravka and an alternative to a number 1 who cant use his feet and is suseptable to injury - and for a team looking to consolidate their CL position.

We missed out on James Trafford, this is the alternative. If we were outright buying him you'd have a point, as I don't rate him, but as we're not, and the 'been relegated with X' point is daft, you don't.

Only been relegated once since being “shipped out” by Arsenal.

I think despite what everyone is trying to say, if somebody said to us after the Everton game that the goalkeeper we'd be signing going into next season was Aaron Ramsdale, 99% of us would have scoffed at it.

Hoping to be proved wrong like I was with Joelinton & Murphy, but the point still stands.

I think him being on loan with no obligation and a low loan fee pretty much neutralises all the scoffing that would be going on if we'd signed him.

Yes, the fact it's no obligation does soften it a little, as long as the funds are allocated elsewhere. The jury is out on that one.

Aye the coward has popped his head over the parapet again. He would have been hounded out by himself and the other cowards over on RTG by now. Keith the racist cunt loves a good old banning. He'll disappear again shortly, until he has some other shit point to put across

Pretty hard to have a stellar career when everyone we bring in is about 15.

On a serious note, We have brought in two players with experience. Renildo & Xhaka, who both I would argue have had superior careers to Ramsdale.

Not really sure it means anything though, two clubs at polar opposite ends of the market they shop in.

That being said, I would have been wounded if we brought Ramsdale in. Personally think he’s shite and the seagulls would have distracted him.

He's far better than the fat mess you’ve had in goal the past 2 seasons. Wouldn't bank on this Dutch kid being any good either. The Dutch haven't had a decent goalkeeper in ages.

Nice that you've reappeared now Sunderland are doing better anyway. That's the Sunderland way isn't it. Come out for the good times, under your rocks for the rest.

Tom Cowie never spoke a truer word.
