Yeah everyone (at the time) were over the moon he signed and that's why so many turned up.

His goal record for us wasn’t bad at all, if he’d not been injured so much and having a face like a smacked arse most of the time and his general I couldn’t give a toss attitude, he may have been better thought of.

“After evaluating ten thousand managers in the blink of an eye, the Gamble-Tron 2000 says the winner is... Tony Mowbray?! Why, you worthless hunk of junk!”

It's not one of those Football Manager articles is it? 'We started a new game with no manager at Sunderland, you'll be STUNNED to see who Sunderland appointed'.

Drawing at home to Preston and Blackpool isn't going to cut it if they want to go up like. Don't actually know what their goal is this season mind, guess a top 10 finish for them should be considered pretty good

Just read the thread on RTG. Wow, they really are worried. Trying to convince each other that this is all going to end in tears for us. One of them even had the cheek to say that we are always rewriting history.

So gutted we’ve had a shit (their words) start to the season, when we could have just drawn a blank in front of 12k empty seats with Tony Mowbray at the helm.

That attendance figure has to be wrong.

According to this article they sold nearly 30k ST. Even if they don’t count those that didn’t turn up (I thought they did?), there’s absolutely no way over half of them didn’t bother to turn out.

Odd.

Edit: Twitter says it was 35k, which would seem more likely

13,900 seems a bizarrely low attendance for a league game. Obviously various contributing factors but I assumed they actually had more ST holders than that figure?

It was over 35,000 where did you get that from?

Some sad wanker on their forum updates a thread in the build up to every match with numbers of tickets sold and people pure love it "gerrin another 400 sold today, great effort" where they try to tot up and estimate the attendance.

Imagine just selling out every match?

Funnily enough no mention made in that thread of the freebies handed to local primary schools etc on the reg to boost the numbers.

Classless lot.

That’s the class of the majority of fuckers on that forum, they’re all brain dead. It’s like when they say it was a minority singing the Adam Johnson song, it was fuckin thousands of them.
