Leicester is similar in that Filbert Street was always edgy but I doubt the King Power has the same feel.

Add Maine Road to that list. Old grounds in less than salubrious areas with lots of rat runs made it easy to ambush visiting fans

Aye they falsely spread rumuours that some young Stoke lass had been assaulted by our lot to try and justify it aswell. 6.5k away fans there that night was absolute carnage, give as good as we got after the game though.

Must admit we got a kicking walking back to the car after the match. Came out the ground and got chatting to a QPR fan who had driven up from London especially to watch Les Ferdinand play. Wished him farewell and continued on our way. All I remember after that is a Stoke fan coming over and saying "I wouldn't walk this way if I were you" and the next thing a big shout of "Geordie Bastards!" and about 20-30 of them just charged at the 4 of us from the other end of the street. Fought back as best we could but there was just too many of them.

Once that was over we managed to regroup and walked round the corner to see a NUFC fans minibus turned onto its side and what I could only describe as a full on battle going on. Coppers came over cos the 4 of us were covered in blood and asked where our bus was. Told them we'd driven and we got our own personal police escort back to the car [emoji38]

Aye, it was a lively night running battles all the way back to the town centre afterwards. Real nasty bastards Stoke on their day.

Had 10' of that on before half-time whilst making a mug shot.

For atmosphere watch, sounded like a friendly cricket match, not one chant, a ripple of applause, the low drone of chattering, a collective "come on" on one occasion and a ripple of half-arsed applause and half-arsed boos at half-time.

You'd never think there was 48,000 there

What is a 6 in a row is that this will be the 6th season in a row they've lost their top dogs honour but also finished below Middlesbrough.

The sh1t of the north-east 6years in a row. Wonder if that's a first.

Have to go back to the 1800s for the last time they finished ahead of us that much in a row not sure where we were in relation to Boro.
