Never been a fan of this one compared to others, too complicated.

 

I cant see it saying FC or football club. Majority or clubs remove it so the brand can go beyond just being a football club. I think Chelsea and Liverpool still have it buy Arsenal, Man City, Man U don't. A badge with a magpie and Newcastle United is easy enough. I definitely expect some green to be in there, simple like on the new training gear

I blame all them people who bitched on about the I and the T being too close together on the last Castore embroidered badge.

Obviously put the idea in the clubs head that the crest was too complicated.

From that Twitter thread. If we did go for a refresh of the current badge, making it easier to reproduce but still 'simplified' in places, I think what Ash Willerton came up with is cracking....



But I certainly wouldn't be against a Man City style rebrand, and something very similar to the late 70s badge....



Keep it colour for the home kit, but I think that would still work in Monotones too, for the change kits.

Maybe just have 'NEWCASTLE UNITED' and drop the football club bit. Maybe add the formation date instead?

Even though I love our current crest I'm not massively fussed about this

 

If our current crest was in place since day 1 then I think it would be unanimous in being against it 

 

Also I guess it seemed inevitable this was coming so no real shock factor to it 

 

It is a divisive subject so I am surprised they didn't wait until the season was done

I can see us going back to one of the old circular badges. It’s maybe no coincidence both the old crests have appeared on our shirts this season
