Best: Loic Remy

Worst: Luuk de Jong

(Some might say Barreca, Doumbia, Ferreyra, Slimani or others who never/barely played - I went with LDJ as in about a dozen games I don't think I've seen a striker offer less goal threat and I include Riviere in that)

Christ, blasts from the past. I had such high hopes for Luuk.

Isak always seems to get done in these things.

Seems canny highly strung in every clip I’ve seen of him aside from interviews, bet he’s easy as piss to wind up.

Anybody got weblinks to Nufc.com’s Match reports for 2002/3 2003/4 & 2004/5 seasons? Keep getting 404 page error and I feel like depressing myself reading the final match reports of Sir Bobby’s tenure and the beginning of that dickhead Souness’ reign etc..

not that I want to tell people how to spend their spare time but…. I mean…. Why?

The trick is to Google 'nufc.com fixtures 2002/03' (or whichever season you want). It's a truly glorious resource and time capsule but it's just a very, very antiquated website.

Is this list of player of the year accurate? I remember the last few, and they make sense. But there are quite a lot of strange ones in there. Darren Peacock for 1995/96 for a start. Rob Elliot for 2015/16??

Rob Elliot got our POTY for 2015/16 aye the year we went down. Too young to verify Peacock.

He only played 21 games that season. Must've been some sort of statement about how shit we were.

Remember him having a blinder away to Bournemouth in a win we scabbed 1-0 and making a quality save from PVA in the derby at home under Rafa.

Not sure why Watson in 96/97 made me laugh, actually didnt realise only Peacock started more games in the league that year but considering Shearers goals and finishing 2nd it was a bit surprising given i remember Barton playing a fair few too
