Said this almost a year ago and I feel it has proven true. Whenever a sporting director is credited with being some transformative figure, you can be almost certain that they've created a myth around themselves in the press. I'm sure there are exceptions, and I was even willing to give DA some benefit of the doubt at the time, but they are often credited with things that are typically the role of a much wider team.

Delighted to see the little weasel out of a job, anyway.

I remember getting a wee bit of criticism on here when I suggested the same when he was here.  Personally I always felt he was a snake oil salesman.  This has made my day.

Could spot he was a business wanker with nothing behind him the moment he did his first interview for us, hate that cunts like him manage to fall upwards and acquire massive gardens. Glad he's causing discord elsewhere and we rinsed Ratcliffe for it anarl.

Hilarious to think that after putting in all the stops to prevent us from competing, they have went full throttle, and choked themselves. After the Man City CAT case, and the new rules on ownership loans, Ratcliffe can’t put money into them, and they have ended up charging their fans double the price for tickets, and sacking the guy they spend the best part of a year chasing, and spent £10m getting him because they can no longer afford his wages and signings.

He was never going to put money into them anyway.  That’s why these rules are in place, so the cartel club owners don’t have to spend their own money and stay at the top.

He would have loaned them money though, so long as he profited long term.

we didn’t extend the managers contract after interviewing other candidates then giving him over €200m to spend only to sack him a few months later

our owner didn’t go on tv day after day saying ashworth is best in class

We didn’t pay them millions to looks like fuckin idiots when they sack the guy after less time in the roll than he was on gardening leave

Ratcliffe is an idiot, but we are just as directionless as club as the guys from Old Trafford right now.

I don't think we are at all. We've major issues working around PSR but nearly everyone does.

Not as much chaos, but what are we better at then?

Still 4 sporting directors left:

Sir David Brailsford, Director of Sport

Jean-Claude Blanc, directeur sportif

Omar Berrada, Director deportivo

Jason Wilcox, technical director of sports

That reads like a haiku or something.  There's something poetic about it.

Reminder - for all the schadenfreude, this says fuck all about those at our club who appointed the gobshite in the first place.

Radcliffe is a buffoon, but we need to ensure we aren't taken in by this type of wank again.

or maybe turn it in to a limmerick.

There once was Sir David, quite grand,

With Jean-Claude, who lent him a hand.

Omar joined the affair,

With Wilcox to share,

Their sports dream was perfectly planned.
