Amorim has said that his main focus is getting everyone up to speed with his system. He's rotating like crazy and even has the youth teams playing the same formation.

He said we'd try and pick up as many wins as possible but he needs everyone as fit as possible and used to them before we can start to build. He's said from the start we'd still be shit for a while.

That’s part of his charm. ‘Alreet lads? We’ll still be shit for a while!’

We still don't know why Ashworth was turfed, but if the rumours are true and the Amorim appointment ruffled his feathers because he wanted Southgate or Potter then I'm genuinely happy he's gone.

Really? Haven't you always done that? Why the fuck would the youth teams play anything other than the first team (most used) formation unless you are just desperate to win things at that level...

We have not. This is the first time in a long time that I've heard the first team coach taking anything to do with our youth sides.

Genuinely amazed at that!

Not following our own youth teams too closely I'm now panicking that someone will tell me we don't either ;D

Personally I don't doubt Amorin will improve things, obviously I want it to take as long as possible but...

Well, he was the perfect DoF 6 months ago, the solution to everything. And apparently we were just salty to have a different opinion of him back then. Guess we should be over the moon if he comes back.:coolsmiley:

Tbf that strategy worked out well for Moyes when he took over at Sunderland.

Oh wait, it didn't... 🤣

Tbf I think he tried it without the ‘for a while’ on the end.
