I said to a mate. He’s played the ultimate blinder keeper performance tonight. Cleano, assist, time wasting. The lot. Their fans must have hated him

Even provided some comedy moments. Spooned it off for a corner, then gets an assist that any keeper in the world would be proud of. Followed up by then punting it into the East Stand. He got a standing ovation by quite a few in the Leazes for that

moment of the night?

or kicking it it backwards to give away a corner?

I loved that second goal but he never threw that 65 yards (as is being reported). If he'd thrown it that far it would have landed on the edge of the "D".

I think whoever came up with that (TV comms?) forgot that he was on the edge of the box when he released it, not his goal line. More like 45 yards.

Still impressive though.

That throw is already legendary. He hoyed it over the Gallowgate!

Depends how you measure it. Is it from release to first bounce, or from release to Barnes' first touch? If the latter it changes things a lot and I'd argue a pass isn't complete until the receiving player touches it. After all, many passes are over the ground and yet we don't say they travelled 0 meters.

Made me laugh that this is something you seem to have really thought about.

Ha ha… I just thought it weird as half the pitch is about 57 yards and it landed 6-7 yards inside their half. Obviously at the exact time I was jumping up and down celebrating the goal and not even thinking about that, but when they started saying 65 yards later it seemed off.

However, as @Chris_R pointed out, if it's until Barnes' first touch and not first bounce it might be closer to 65 yards.
