Wallsendmag
11 minutes ago, Geogaddi said: It would still be massively dependant on a ballot though as demand from members to even attend the games would be huge , you would have to put them all in a ballot to decide who actually got to attend and then the lucky ones would be allowed to build up points and the rest would be no better off than they are now . You don't HAVE to use a ballot system. Most clubs don't.
bobbydazzla
The club wouldn’t have have to put all tickets in a ballot just because we introduce member loyalty points or tiers Could still do what we do now, where you get several bites of the cherry: 1) ballot 2) member sale 3) ST resale 4) get another member to buy the ticket for you in member sale or ST resale 5) a season ticket holder can transfer a ticket to a member 6) wouldn’t count towards hypothetical member loyalty points, but someone can “illegally” transfer you a spare ticket via email If you really, really, really want a ticket and are determined, you’ll find a way to get one for all home games As plenty of us on here can testify to Only games I haven’t got a ticket for since Oct 2021 was a handful I was on holiday so I didn’t even try And I’m a bit of a weirdo, but I’m not some cyborg sent back from the future to destroy the ticketing past. I’m just very determined to go to every game, just like I used to before I jacked my ST because of Ashley Edited February 14 by bobbydazzla
mattypnufc
Pretty easy really. You build points up by attending games. Whether ST holder (allocated x amount upon purchase), cup scheme, away tickets, ballot, resale. Yes away loyalty points still count before people fucking whinge about those too. Each type ticket has a weighting/point attributed to it depending on criteria (distance/attractiveness - midweek against L2 opponents in 3rd round FA cup etc) which in essence means you have a total score built up over time, based on the above. Which then gives said ‘holder’ an opportunity for rewards. A bit like air miles on a CC. What this means is essentially, no freebies per se, but just opportunities for ‘pots’ when it comes to cup games (finals or whatever), European games, away games, season ticket opportunities, you name it. Essentially just trying to make it fairer and similar to how a lot of the clubs do it. This way those who want to be aren’t eternally locked out of a closed shop forever, or lumped in a pot 6 category with those who could only be arsed to press ‘apply for ballot’. Christ it’s not difficult really. Whether the system is adequate to do such things is another question mind.

AyeDubbleYoo
Selfishly I want the current system to continue because I always get a ticket in the general or resale. But I think the only fair way (without tiers of support) is 100% ballot. I would love some kind of system of loyalty but they've dug themselves into a whole by making game attendance based on a large amount of randomness. Obviously gutted about the cup final decisions too, but I half expected it.

Paulmn
HI - I've applied for tickets in the ballot for the Palace game. Does anyone know roughly what time the results are known and do you get an email even if you're unsuccessful? Thanks

The date seemed a little vague on the official site "Mags Member ballot run: Successful applicants to be notified before 11am, Wednesday 26th March". The deadline to enter the ballot closed at noon today so I wondered if I could expect to find out later today or whether it would actually be close to 11am tomorrow? geordie_b Posted Monday at 07:08 Share Posted Monday at 07:08 (edited) Man Utd implementing ID checks before season ticket and membership renewal, Arsenal expected to follow. Wonder how long before we do the same? As with anything there will be push back from some, mainly those who share or ‘inherited’ tickets (and those against ID checks in general) but would fast get a handle on the perceived touting issues Edited Monday at 07:14 by geordie_b

Unless they’re planning on installing face recognition at the turnstiles (extremely doubtful), it’ll probably be manual checks where you get pulled aside upon entry. If these manual checks were targeted, i.e based on info that there’s a different person in the seat every game, then that’s probably no bad thing. If they’re just random, might be a bit more likely to piss people off.

Wouldn’t surprise me. And for all the pros and cons, it really would make touting massively more difficult. They have it at one of the main stadiums in Turkey (forget which one) but I think that was more related to hooliganism than anything else.

I’ve had one ticket in the ballot this season (Wimbledon). The general sale is no good to me unless it’s my day off. I work in an operating theatre so no way I can sit at a computer hitting refresh and mobiles aren’t allowed. Been lucky that my mate has been working a lot and I’ve picked up his ticket but he can’t transfer anymore after Wednesday. Had a couple off lads in here for which I’m very grateful. Very frustrating

Very frustrating Easiest solution for someone in your situation is to get added to the Friends list of someone you know who can do the 10am resale and then they buy a ticket on your behalf, on your account Far from ideal, but it’d get you to the match regularly
Sibierski
16.5% has to be bollocks, I’m on 0 out of I think 8 For Ipswich one, instead of a pair, gone as an individual and Mrs as one too. Test to see who’s successful. Someone who’s been a member for like a decade and always enters ballot, or someone who’s been a member since last season and never enter a ballot as the lead person.
