The Carrasco links are interesting. Doesn’t seem to fit the profile of player we’d be after, but there’s been persistent rumours on a move for him every window since the takeover.

Could obviously just be agent-driven mind.

At 29 and having never played in the PL before I’d say it’s unlikely. For that age bracket we seem to go for PL proven players, if we go abroad the trend so far seems to be for younger prospects.

Carrasco has gone of the boil this year it seems. Not to say he isn't worth a shot ofcourse but isnt there better options out there? Martin Terrier would be one that springs to mind, he has also been rumoured recently.

Newcastle United aims to build a top-level squad that can compete for the Premier League title in the short term. The owners of the club are targeting several important pieces of European football that can make a leap in quality to the squad currently directed by Eddie Howe.

The Urracas intend to make significant investments in the next markets to finish having a top-notch squad in the Premier League and, according to the information we handle, they intend to get the three-star services of LaLiga in the short term. Here we tell you who they are:

The 3 LaLiga stars that Newcastle United wants to sign

-Pau Torres: The centre of Villarreal is one of the main desires of the club to continue renewing its rotation in the back. Spanish is an ideal bet to put together a first-class couple with Sven Botman for the short and long term. His contract ends in the summer of 2024.

-Yannick Ferreira Carrasco: The Belgian is an option that he likes a lot because of its versatility and individual quality. He is a soccer player that Newcastle sees as the ideal winger for Eddie Howe's game idea. It has a termination clause of 60 million euros, which the English club would be willing to pay. Atlético de Madrid needs to sell a star due to its complicated economic situation.

-Nabil Fekir: One of the main desires and the most complicated of the three mentioned. Fekir is one of the main desires of the owners due to their technical quality and experience in the elite. He does not want to leave Real Betis, but the Urracas will make an offer of 45 million euros to try to convince both parties.

Fekir is 29, not a chance we pay 45m. Carrasco is also 29, no way we'll pay 60m. Can't at all imagine CB being a concern in Jan, potentially not even Summer. Torres in mint though
