João Pedro - Chelsea Agree Deal With Brighton (Ornstein)

Recommended Posts

Well I think if it wasn’t for PSR we would be much more attractive now for players. We would find it way easier to get deals done imo. Both fees and wages would be much easier to overpay a bit more.

I even think we were a slightly more attractive option before this PSR debacle truly hit in in the last few windows. Despite us being a better team now. Money talks unfortunately.

It's also not our job to criticise the club because of bullshit theories and opinions but its happening all the time.

We are fans.

Fans sometimes criticise the club they support. The people running the club and all the employees are aware of that.

Fans are significant stakeholders of a club.  We are not the non factors you seem to suggest we are to the club.

Waffle.

You spend all day every day criticising the club you support, regardless of facts, and when someone asks you to give an alternative solution, you say "not my job".

You've whinged every day since the takeover and we've had incredible success. You whinged about Howes tactics and were wrong, you've whinged about the clubs signings and are were wrong, you've whinged about PIF and are wrong.

Clearly we dont agree... pal.

I know, but this is a forum, with opinions and discussion 😂

I just mean I'd be really keen to have him, I genuinely don't know any other players like him, as I don't follow other leagues closely, and think he ticks so many boxes.

I'd be more gutted with Pedro going to Chelsea, then Mbuemo going to Man U, as I feel there are other options at RW that improve us, where as the the CM/AM/ST is more complicated

He wouldn’t cover LCM anyway. He would change the shape of the team.

I think he would at times

Get a faster CB, Pope/Trafford sweeper keeper, push the defensive line higher up, Bruno plays a bit closer to Tonali, the space in midfield is reduced, and I think Pedro would do a job as LCM

You sound hurt and uptight.

I’ve not even criticised the club for this transfer! For this particular situation there’s nothing they could do.

You are unable to hold even the slightest nuance in a view.

You’re upset and angry that other fans are concerned.

Youve got the right hump at me because I’ve said ‘hey man, I can see why they might be concerned’. If it’s not blind praise everything is going great and everything is perfect and to plan - you get upset.

Yeh I hear that. But if we’ve lost out on JP - let’s wait and see if we can identify a like for like alternative position wise. Because Janpawel and TCD don’t know alternatives doesn’t mean the club doesn’t. I agree there are not lots of easy to identify alternatives like there is at RW.

I feel like we change shape for JP personally.

Must be how Boehly gets all those transfers done!

Doesn’t he just roll the bolder down on Piggy and create a chaotic descent into transfer market madness?  [emoji38]

I wouldn’t be concerned at all until mid July at the earliest. The current mood is unhinged.

Generally I try to judge transfer windows when they’ve closed - though the best time is often the end of the season.

Judging a transfer window before it has opened is pretty radge tbh

Just hope we sign someone soon, this place is turning into Lord of the Flies

It’s the same every year on every forum. Nowt to focus on other than transfers and the annual pissing and moaning olympics kicks in.

Joao Pedro alternative at same price is Xavi Simons, and in my opinión would transform us when we play those stubborn low block teams...

He doesn’t play upfront.

he was signed for €50m. I doubt he’s available for €65 but could be wrong.

From what I have seen of him I would agree. However, I just can't see it happening. He is surely going to be out of our budget for transfer fee/wages combined and one of the big boys would jump in if we were able to get it to be affordable.

I’ve said it before, but Chelsea are also a very successful club - and they finished above us last season despite having a bad season (while we had the best one in my lifetime).  What represents success for us represents failure for them.

Erm, no.

Last season was a very good one for Chelsea. Won a trophy and qualified for the CL which was their top priority. They achieved that, so it was a successful season for them. They're not in a position to challenge for the PL or the CL, and won't be for a few years yet, which they themselves realise. This is not the Chelsea of 5 or 10 years.

For us, it was a great season because we won a trophy. Going only by the league form, it was a good season for us, not a great one.

I must say, I do get tired of the inferiority complex on here, at times. I understand it, but you don't need to keep saying it out loud.

Simons is too expensive. Especially considering the number of areas we need to strengthen
