The full weight of my official support, and all of the "benefits" that flow from it, is behind Mexico. Unofficially, I always like supporting the teams from the underdog confederations--so like Japan, South Korea, etc.--until they inevitably bow out in the group stage.

Yeah, that's me too. Plus I have obligatory support of England and Australia.

I kinda think the US should back England this time round. We now have a legit royal hook-up, plus our team is full of mediocre cloggers too.

lol.

Might have gone that route if Lascelles and/or Shelvey had made the squad, but alas...

Why the fuck do you support an English team then? Get the fuck out. Go support the Rochester Rhinos or some shit.

:okay: Who are we cheering for?

I strongly advise you to support the Super Eagles of Nigeria in the forthcoming FIFA World Cup.

[emoji38] Who do you suggest I support after the group stage?

  • 3 weeks later...

Ernie Stewart has been named as manager of USMNT. What. The. Fuck.

I was going to boycott Qatar anyway

With a primary focus on the senior MNT, here are the core responsibilities that Stewart will assume in his position:

--Leading the search and hiring process for the Head Coach;

--Creating the environment—both day-to-day and long-term—for the Head Coach and the Men’s National Team to succeed;

--Ensuring that U.S. Soccer’s Style of Play, Team Tactical Principles, and Key Qualities are being implemented within the Men’s National Team;

--Creating a player profile for each position on the field based on the Style of Play, Team Tactical Principles, and Key Qualities;

--Working with the Head Coach to create positional depth charts based on the player profile, accounting for player’s current and potential ability to compete at the highest levels in the world;

--Evaluating and monitoring players coming up through the Youth National Team programs and ensuring that the best talent is identified and cultivated; and,

--Communicating and working with the Sport Development Departments to drive technical alignment and integration, including Coaching Education, Player Development, High Performance, Talent Identification and Youth National Teams.

Sounds like he'll be the chief influencer in charge of disrupting the paradigm by optimizing metrics.
