Think it’s time for Howe to have a little one on one, explain he’s not leaving this summer but a gentleman’s agreement for next summer could be possible if he plays at 100%, and that rejoining the squad will be easier the sooner it’s done.  Make himself available for Liverpool and life will be much easier.

The writing has been on the wall since Ekitike went to Liverpool

It's entirely plausible that the media storm was all manufactured by Newcastle and Isak himself.

A ploy to unleash him against the unsuspecting scousers.

Nineteen days.

That's how long it has been since Liverpool's £110m bid for Newcastle striker Alexander Isak was rejected.

Since then, there have been no further offers.

But it hasn't stopped the future of the 25-year-old Sweden striker being the biggest talking point of the summer window.

Will Liverpool bid again? Will he rejoin first-team training in the meantime? What happens if a deal is not completed by the 1 September deadline day?

BBC Sport has spoken to a number of sources in an attempt to get the latest on these questions and what might happen next.

a properly balanced recap tbh.

The very last section does raise the very important point that most big money signing CFs end up being a bit shite. Is taking a punt on a guy who will probably have been just about inside the top ten on our list of targets for the position this summer likely to yield good results?

Can see why Howe might want to reintegrate him if at all possible.

So if they sign him Liverpool will have 6 of the PFA team of the year from last year. Fuck off.

The way it should be. Whoever wins the league should be able to draft the best 11 players. Then 2nd place do theirs etc.
