Alexander Isak: has a chance to play against Everton (Howe)

I’m enjoying all the speculation as it shows we actually have a top player that others want.

I obviously hope it doesn’t turn his form to shit, but we are eventually going to want a team of these sort of players and not some of the cloggers we have now

I would enjoy it more if we were allowed to compete with the cartel clubs. The reality is though, as long as we are not in a position to try and win the CL on a consistent basis, or pay our top players what they can earn at those clubs, there will always be a chance that they could get their heads turned.

FWIW the talk of Isak being interested in a move to Liverpool sounds like clickbait, but it is one of the few clubs where I could imagine there is interest. He's done them over enough times even if we didn't manage to turn that into wins.

Every time I click on this thread, you're talking about him going to Liverpool.

It's really the strangest thing, especially as there hasn't even been anything close to any real links to him.

Quite bizarre.

I just explained this in the post you are quoting that it is probably clickbait. But it wasn't me who posted the story, I am just reacting to it. I'm not saying he is going to Liverpool, but I can see why the link would be made, even if it is made up.

Not aimed at you personally as there's 20+ people doing it, by why on earth do we keep giving this clickbait bullshit any attention on here ffs? It's complete nonsense to unsettle him and us, fuck them, and don't give them any clicks!!!

Is a very good ITK Liverpool guy on twitter I follow for FPL news etc.

Basically said Liverpool love him but going to cost over 100 mil.  Looking at Darwin to Saudi and Jota to generate funds but also Chuna for £63 mil might end up being bought.

Nowt ground breaking as I am sure every club in the world would take him atm.

We really need our owners to put a block on Saudi clubs helping the Cartel 6 get rid of their burdens for big money

Ah well, I guess he'd better score against them multiple times in an upcoming match to prove his worth then eh

They're going to call it an "audition".. Like Arsenal fans did in the semi.

Teamtalk definetly called him to ask about it. He told them that he was very interested, and told them to "tell the world about it".

Tbh it all relies on us getting CL football- if we do I am confident he stays. If not :howe:

This is how I see it. CL football, plus use some wiggle room in the sponsorship rules to give him a contract on a par with what he can get anywhere else, and he will be happy to stay. As long as the club shows it is ready to mix it with the big boys then there's no better place to be than here.

I’d assume it’s a cstch twenty-two though in that by offering him a massive contract on par with what he’d get elsewhere; we’re limiting the wages we can offer new players.

Depends on how much we can abuse the APT rules I suppose. We really need to find some way of paying top wages if we want to keep top players.

Yeah 100% mate. Haven’t looked into the APT rules properly yet but should be interesting.

Think regardless we’ll have a busy summer, and although Europe is important for keeping Isak, bringing in high calibre players will play a big part as well.

This is it.  I would assume Isak is on 100-150k.  He’ll want close to £250k imo. Looking at an extra £5m in wages for 1 player and the ceiling raised
