Because we haven’t matched his ambitions the last few seasons, there’s teams now that will offer him that money, have proper cover for him so he’s not playing every single minute of the season, will be in the champions league every year pretty much guaranteed and have a very good chance of winning it and the premiership, he is that level and amazing if he stays but I also think at some point he’ll move on.

Doubt the Scottish Premiership champions in Celtic can afford him?

I'm sorry but if he's sold it better not be to any Premier League team, especially with the way they've been punking us on transfers. It would be completely unacceptable.

It's a shame Barcelona are such a catastrophe financially as that would be the ideal spot to send him to.

I was reading that PSG are looking for a more technical striker and are likely letting Kolo Muani and Ramos leave.

I'm sure Isak would fancy playing in that team under Enrique, and they would pay him very well. Hopefully they would then stop any of these so called top Prem clubs from winning the Champions League.

If push comes to shove call them up and make something work.

I really dont get this fking thing with Elliot. He is not very good, is slow, is not a starter for us and hasn't really shown in a top class Liverpool team. Why on earth would we want him and less money for Isak?

I’d prefer to sell him abroad but to be honest the way our squad and setup is at the moment, I don’t give a flying **** about anyone but us.

Shearer had a highest earner clause didn’t he?

Got a bump to 70k when we signed Kluivert then to six figures in his final season when we signed Owen.  I’m sure that was all reported at the time.

Yeah, and that was ridiculous. Should never allowed him to have that.

If he has an injury ridden season, I wonder if it will put off a number of clubs who could afford him

yes - and the concern is he might be less willing to play with a niggle if unhappy. Not to mention cotton wolling himself should Sweden qualify for WC. They have a plush draw

I’m “ok” with selling Isak for 150m. But definitely not to Liverpool, and not this season.

You won’t get anywhere near that next summer… Especially after what I think is gonna be a pretty mediocre year for him considering the start it’s off to.

it’s now or much cheaper later.

I remember a version of FM when I was Hearts, had about 6 players on this highest earner clause around £10k each. Signed Ben Arfa on £45k a week, crippled me having 6 players getting £35k a week rises at once.

Didn't think anything could depress me more today but HBA playing for fucking Hearts has done me in.

Much cheaper to a foreign club sounds good to me.

Aye, more so because if his history too.

Barely got to to play for Dortmund, then was at Real Sociedad fighting for 4-7th place, now he is kind of similar situation here. You'd think he want to finish his career with having played at least in one club aiming to win the league or european competetions.

If only he was under some sort of contract. A one that provides safety for him had he flopped or been injured all the time and also protects the club allowing them to profit to market value should he do well.

I'll say it again, I'd rather see us struggle on the pitch than give in to player dictat like that.

Then that's the perfect scenario for us, either he has a great season and we get a premium price for him next summer on the continent so Liverpool don't get their grubby little hands on him or he has a poor season like you say and he doesn't get a move because no one wants him because he's a class striker and one bad season doesn't mean he's suddenly rubbish

If you don't think there's a hope of NUFC making a step up to the heady echelons that 'deserve' a player like Isak - I don't know why you are even here.

Cos I was born in Newcastle and as a 51 year old have supported them all my life and always will, not because I think we’ll break into the top 6. It’s a closed door/ a big boys country club nowadays and I can’t see us groin there, not in Isaks time anyway but I will still support us until the day I die.
