Only thing is, who has the money to buy him at the moment?

Literally any of the teams that don't play by the rules could find a way to make the deal happen, to be honest.

Do we call him a rat now?

Death threats?

Murals painted over?

Let's not be like Scousers and have some decorum please.

He has murals? We shouldn’t have murals of lads who use this club as a stepping stone. Anyone giving him death threats is deranged, there are deranged people around. Don’t like it out of him though, going on strike. Thought Gordon was bad enough with his body language last year. For some reason I didn’t think we’d have players striking, but there’s been a cloud over us since the Staveley drama, could tell something was totally different. Felt like a club then, feels corporate, players and manager are workers for a company that doesn’t care. Shameful.

Considering any club with a realistic chance of signing him has either already singed someone or doesn't need him, the timing of this is really weird.

Its almost like its Craig "Revel in misery Hope" is putting 2+2 together.

It may ultimately be correct, but in my head its not a coincidence that he's dropped this "information" an hour after the squad got announced. Why didn't he run this exclusive yesterday, or several days ago etc.

We had 40 points in 18 games in 2022 before Isak even came, with a much worse squad overall.

We will be fine.

Get the sentiment but other clubs around us have progressed and got stronger, a lot stronger since 2022. We really need to sort stuff out behind the scenes as otherwise we will be looking up at the likes of Villa, Bournemouth, Brighton, Palace, if we aren't careful.

That article is pretty much the club confirming that we're ready to sell for £150 million.

Lets see who steps up to the plate. It would be a massive fee and that's down to how well Isak has done.

Will be immensely awful if he stays in the Premier league though, and so hopefully that can be avoided.

You think he’s sold? I don’t.

I keep trying to think rationally. We can’t even buy 1 striker, how are we going to buy 2?  He can’t be allowed to leave. He does need sweetening though.

Of course he's off, disgrace this will happen but we have seen it all before.

Things are shite man .

Imagine if he went to Sunderland

Whether or not he goes there, I fucking despise: Liverpool; any 'journalist' on theirs or other clubs' tabs; and the transfer window.

Absolute textbook unsettling of a player, this.

I agree that he might feel like he deserves best-in-the-world wages, but he's 25 years old and has three years remaining on what will be a fantastic contract, at a Champions League club which is - theoretically - on the up. There's no need for this now.

and room for two more signings

And the fucking rest. The Isak money and what was already in the kitty should revamp the whole squad. Two strikers, CM, CB and GK. All of good quality.

No excuses apart from our staggering inability to actually rubber stamp a transfer.

It may very well turn out to be correct, but there's no doubt in my mind that Hope is just reading between the lines like the rest of us.

No way he'd put that out unless he's been briefed by the club.

Completely agree with this & with the risk of causing outrage. I think Eddie Howe just might want to see him sold as well.

If we lose Isak with one incoming player this window is a nightmare.

Liverpool, Chelsea, probably Arsenal. They all have massively inflated revenue compared to us, assets they can sell to Saudi and young players they can move on for profit

Players come and go, but not sure how we or anyone outside the sky 6 ever compete at the top if he ends up a Liverpool. For me it would be confirmation football is completely broken if certain clubs can spend what Liverpool have and others can't get even close. Sell Isak, spend the money on other players, but only the left over players the Sky 6 don't want and then still have a squad half the size of them all. Even if we do find a replacement for Isak, how long before this noise happens again.

I've watched us win something and that would be me done, it's not the sport I grew up loving, the commercialisation of everything and the constant focus on finances,  the overwhelming noise in the media just to get clicks and views. Not sure football ever goes back to just being about the game on the weekend.
