Disagree. They're struggling to sell Nunez, Barcelona are no longer after Diaz and Bayern Munich aren't offering what they want. He'll also need replacing. They'll need to offer what we want to sell and theyve made no indication of doing that.

it’s all negotiating. I’m certain both will move this window. Also Tsimikas, chiesa, Elliot and they’ll get money for Jota

At this point I'm not arsed and I think a shit attitude would make him look worse to other clubs.

If I thought we could get 2 adequate strikers in by the end of the window I would be fine... I just don't see it.  It's also possible we don't show weakness (as a club), keep him this summer and he tries to impress.

I dunno tbh.  I'm doing mental gymnastics to figure out which is the best for nufc.

You’re definitely right about getting 2 adequate strikers, the way they’ve been so far with incomings pretty much confirms they aren’t up to it.
A lot of varied opinions on here, one way or the other. Common theme is we are all head fried with it!!

So are the club just sitting about meekly waiting for Liverpool to sell a few players to allow them to actually put in a bid? I truly hope we're not going to allow ourselves to be walked all over in that way. We have to be firm, set our price of £150-£160m, tell Isak he's categorically not leaving for less than it even if it means he has to train on his own for the coming season before being sold.

It sounds spiteful, and I'd have slight concerns about how it makes the club appear to potential future signings, but we can't be that meek here. He's essentially downed-tools and shown a lack of respect, yet we remain in a position of strength and we can't be seen to have been taken advantage of. Not by any player, and especially not by Liverpool.

I'm not getting into the money for Jota thing because it's crass, but the rest is all just guessing. Who is buying Nunez for big money? Chiesa & Tsimikas is bringing in sod all. Not seen anyone seriously discussing Elliot for the amount theyre asking and as said Diaz is a long way from being agreed and will need replacing. Obviously it all could happen but I just don't see it.

When you look who is agent is it makes sense. Isak is the biggest profile on their roster and the biggest cut they're going to get as the drop off in quality is huge. He also has Buendia and Martinez at Aston Villa on the books and I'm sure they were both floated for interest this summer as well.

Granted he could be earning more, but the leaks have came from somewhere - Liverpool will have spoken to the agency and this guy is going to be working overtime with the likes of Romano to push the narrative. I'm resigned to him leaving, but it shouldn't be for less than £150m base with some add ons included
(and a sell on clause). In now way should Isak get a loyalty payment from us as with three years on his deal he has probably went a season too early than expected.

When he is sold the club need to use this moment to invest in quality as it's a sign of weakness so you'll see Tonali and Gordon go next.

I Liverpool fans forgot pretty quickly after burning Gerrard shirts when he wanted to join Chelsea.

Rooney was after a move to City at one point too!

They’ve done a number on us. At this point is taking Nunez as part of the deal the worst option? I worry we’ll not get anyone in otherwise.

We should do NOTHING to make the deal easier for them. We don't lower what we ask, we don't take players in exchange. They want him yey pay through the nose, or he stays.

My take is we now absolutely need to sell Isak. He’s pretty much chucked it and effectively refused to go on the tour.
it’ll be absolutely horrific to see him at Liverpool but I think that’s exactly he ends up. We have to make sure it’s for the right fee.
It’ll be a game changer for our psr issues but who the hell sorts the incomings as it’s been horrific so far.

I think the exact opposite. He should be forced to stay. The prospect of seeing him in  a dipper shirt is horrific.

What are the other options? Getting shafted trying to get sesko? Who by all accounts is overrated.

Who's saying this?

Well yes of course but let’s be honest that ain’t going to happen.

Why not? Honestly, I feel like I'm going mad the way people on here just want to bend over for Liverpool. There is no reason we should sell him other than a club pays the huge fee we want.

We won’t really know how the next batch of PL strikers (Ekitike, Gykores, potentially Sesko) acclimatise to the league until it kicks off. Nothing to say Sesko could be more suited than the other two. It’s a huge risk for big money but by all accounts we did identify him as a future star and our scouting has been excellent, better than our ability to close deals.

Is there any slim chance he might actually stay? Clutching at straws I know. Will be devastated if he goes to Liverpool, they take everything good from us.

way bigger than slim. I’d go 50/50 right now given the size of deal and potential signings and sales needed to facilitate it.

A solid chance that he stays tbh. I'm sure PIF can be twats (to others) if they want. We're under no pressure to sell and he won't down tools in a World Cup year... it's in his best interests to keep scoring goals.

Just ride out the storm.

it’s crass and a bit of an elephant in the room.

obviously a tragedy no one wanted but from an accounting POV, it’s an huge injection into their PSR capabilities
