But it's an absolute fortune to spend in one window on two similar players. Maybe wishful thinking but I think the only way they get him this summer is if we cave in and drop the asking price a fair amount. They need two strikers. We wanted both. Why wouldn’t they? Unless there is a release clause, what if his Saudi club decide they don't want him to leave? Unlike us they can absolutely afford to pay him £600k/week to train with the kids at the academy. Kid Icarus
It's really stupid. If you want to ramp up the fee so another team can't get them you do it so it's out of grasp, not £10m above their reported offer and if you want to do it so they'll meet a valuation you don't bid £20m below Newcastle's valuation. If these fuckers sell him to Liverpool it's all over like. I can see it as well. Edited July 25, 2025 by Kid Icarus
timeEd32
I pretty much always support players getting paid and the decisions that come with it, but if he gives up Premier League and Champions League football in the prime of his career then all respect is gone. And he'd be villain #1 if he was then at Liverpool or Chelsea 12 months later.
