BennyBlanco
How can we budge when Liverpool haven’t even lodged a bid? It’s all a bit surreal their supposed stance of waiting for us to say “please make a lowball bid for our star player?”. Arrogant might be another word to describe it. Created a rift between the player and the club in order to force down the price. For these shenanigans alone I wouldn’t even contemplate selling to them. He can leave on a free in 3 years for me - we’d have got more than our moneys worth by then.

Optimistic Nut
Think for my own sanity I'm just going to stick to the official line, he has a small injury, he's training alone while he considers his options. The rest is all fluff and noise at the minute. Edited July 31, 2025 by Optimistic Nut

Big Geordie
Always thought that Isak seemed like a decent lad who would do the right things. Obviously shows a lack of professionalism but perhaps it's something of an indictment on the modern day player(s)?
David Edgar
And whatever Liverpool bid, whenever they feel that this imaginary door preventing them from bidding no longer exists in their collective mind, a Saudi club should magically outbid them by a silly amount. How could we possibly accept such a low and insulting offer form Liverpool when other clubs are more than willing to meet our valuation? Other clubs who aren't afraid of imaginary doors. Here we go confirmed.

lovejoy
If we get Sesko, we’ll sell imo. If we don’t, it’s going to get messy.
David Edgar
Any official communication with Isak's agent should finish with... "We have accepted the offer from the Saudi club so please feel free to enter contract negotiations. Here we go confirmed."

We can get £100m+ next season, so losing out on a £120m bid from Liverpool this summer is nothing. If its all agreed behind closed doors that a sale will happen next summer, we can also spend all season working on how we spend that money, line up transfers and move fast (lol) before World Cup starts, knowing that an Isak sale is coming. This summer we knew what we needed whilst keeping Isak, next summer it will be replacement forward but also using the funds to bring in another defender and CM as an added bonus. Get our ducks in order by this transfer window end, get things clicking on pitch, we can be in a very healthy squad position next summer post Isak. Could just be modern day people in general…….Everything now seems to be about ‘being assertive’ (rude and selfish) and ‘being clever and controlling the narrative’ (lying and scheming). Everything about this stinks - Isak, Agent, Liverpool, Media and NUFC suits. If this had just happened with a bit of thought and decency I think most fans would have excused him his move with only limited short term bitterness and then wished him well. Isak’s goal in the final was my memory-it was when I believed we would do it - it still is - but it’s tainted. What a player. What a pleasure to watch. What a shame. A one club city. Always bigger than any one player. Only Eddie coming out of this with much credit at the moment - as per usual. The last line of defence being PIF and Yasir. Liverpool, agent and Alex may still find that a difficult defence to overpower…..

BennyBlanco
It’s in the back of my mind that PIF work some Man City yaya toure type contract jiggery pokery, keep some of it off the books and convince him to stay. Probably just me being strangely optimistic though

Not like there’s opportunities for our other players at the moment. If Real suddenly turned around and prioritised a £100m CM and wanted Bruno, his agent would be using that straight away in same way (especially with his contract length in same place). Wouldn’t be because of a lack of CEO, it would be the heavily increased chance of winning the major trophies. But if there’s no solid interest, it’s just business as usual. STM
Im more edging back towards the hes staying camp. Largely because the club simply isnt going to cave into a reduced fee. Liverpool haven't bid yet and even if they do, I doubt it will be close to 150m.

CallumG6
Liverpool keep peddling the line of “waiting for Newcastle to open the door” because they know they’ve deliberately unsettled a player through the media and are trying to save face by looking polite. They know exactly what they’re doing.
Sibierski
Just had a look at couple of his last Insta posts, the Liverpool fans in the comments God I hope they bottom out this season and in a battle for top 4 and dumped out of UCL early again.
