There are no Ornstein level reporters anymore.

Even he has dropped a level this summer. "Player X only ever wanted club X" bullshit is the kind of crap Twitter nonces come out with.

Of course they’re going to bid again. We get Sesko, Isak will go, no doubt about it.

We'll see come September 1st but I'm convinced Isak will stay for another year.

So, we somehow keep Isak with an improved contract, has he already tarnished his legacy at the club? Will he have the right mentality next season? Will the fans treat him differently? Part of me thinks he's not actually done much wrong, with the majority of 'issues' and rumours coming from paper talk, sketchy journos and probably engineered by Liverpool and their loving media. His silence on the matter hasn't helped, neither has the training outside the main squad, but it's 'possible' his agents played along with the whole thing to up his hand in getting an improved contract after the Mitchell debacle I guess. So many unanswered/assumed points with very little coming from reliable sources - if we keep him now, get Sesko in, along with a decent defender, maybe a centre mid and the Ramsdale loan, is that a good window after all?

Side note, I do think the chairman coming over in the last few days has had an effect, perhaps he should have done that earlier in the transfer window though.

If he stays. Do we think we'll hear from Isak before the start of the season? Or after the window has shut?

Will he put something out on social media perhaps or will it just be brushed under the carpet and hope everyone moves on quietly.

I think the Mitchell situation set us back a few weeks

I do think he will get slightly different treatment if he stays. He's made it clear he's not hear for the long haul, which is fine, most fans know that's always the case but it's more obvious now than it ever was before.

It's not paper talk that he refused to go on the pre season tour and fucked off to train by himself in Spain.

He's went on like a cunt, I couldn't give a fuck where his mind is, if it was my choice he stays this window and deals with it.

He deserves any grief he gets as long as we still get behind the team at kick off.

Fuck him, fuck his demands.  Let him go next season when it works better for us.

Which is fine, as long as it doesn't affect his performances. If he does stay, with a clause to be sold next summer as rumoured, I'd hope he has the good graces to go abroad, not stay in the Prem, that would still be a kick in the bollocks to the fans.

I hope you are wrong about that. I want us to get Sesko and then tell Liverpool to get bent as well. PIF need to show their hand that we won't accept second class status to anyone.

we always needed another striker in addition to Isak to replace Wilson.

I think keeping Isak for a year and using the season to develop Sesko and get him used to the league would be realistic. It’s been obvious all window that we have the funds available.

I’d love you to be right, but that only happens if we don’t get a replacement.

I've no idea how you can be so sure, we've chased strikers all summer, Eddie might want 3 to challenge across 4 competitions, we really struggled for numbers last time we were in Europe

Sky just flatly refuse to accept Isak could stay - just continue to pump the narrative he is off to Liverpool.  Howay Yasir prove them wrong - get Sesko / keep Isak and we've the best frontline in the PL.

Get PIF to buy Sky.
