Sky just flatly refuse to accept Isak could stay - just continue to pump the narrative he is off to Liverpool.  Howay Yasir prove them wrong - get Sesko / keep Isak and we've the best frontline in the PL.

Better than Liverpool's comedy duo of Nunez and Hugo that's for sure.

I'm torn with getting right behind Isak being seen as basically a cuckold position or a right position of strength in supporting players whilst they are here.

Hell a good season, CL again next year and maybe a fanciful flirtation with a title challenge and Isak may decide this is the place for him for the longer term

It's definitely not a case of if we get Sesko then Isak is off, it has to be the right deal too, we're not going to cut our losses on him, that much I think is clear. I would imagine when the bid came in from Liverpool then those in charge were already well aware of our position on Sesko and still flat out said no, so him potentially arriving makes no odds iyam.

I’m sure we actually bid for Sesko yesterday tbh

This is what I read into the reports, it said that "in the last 24hrs" we had made our bid, which is what makes me think we're keeping Isak too.

We don't have to get behind him like we did in the past, he just needs to do his job for another season then we can let him go. I don't see why Liverpool should benefit from trying to unsettle one of our best players.

But if we can get him to fall back in love with the club and project and hang around that's surely the best outcome?

Of course that would be the dream. But I am looking at worst case scenarios, and for that is him still being at Newcastle and scoring goals with slightly less connection with the fans for a season.

Why, he's not been humped by the Liverpool fans yet.

Be a bit pissed off if my lass buggered off waiting for some bloke who never came, then came back though.

Some teenager with the new Liverpool shirt on at the North Shields vs Newcastle Benfield match. His dad is talking about how they are going to get Isak for £140m in a broad Geordie accent, with a Swindon Town FC tattoo on his leg.

Feels out of character for Isak to go about it like this. Completely burned bridges, didn’t even inform Eddie he was heading to Spain, let alone ask for permission.

Based on Gordon’s latest interview it sounds like he knew the club would never agree to the move if he just asked outright.

Poor move from Isak and very unprofessional.

Refusing to play means the clock is ticking on his time here. Either he goes now or he goes next summer, he's not stopping any longer.

If it's next summer, he'll need to score goals. If he does that no one will give a fuck for the most part.
