Wonder how he's feeling today.

The worst case of dreading work on Monday ever?

I think Eddie is to good of a man manager to make Isak feel uncomfortable

It's interesting to see the difference in the player's perspective and the supporter's. I've been addicted to watching the Wembley post-match celebrations, and I can't do that at the moment because Isak has rather pooped on that. However, from the players' own self-interest, they'll be hoping that Isak returns and they will be prepared to welcome him back. In that scenario, Eddie will probably encourage the support to follow suit, and as the sun shines out of his arse as far as we're concerned, we'll follow his lead.

I don't think the club has told Liverpool that they can have him for £150m. That would only encourage Isak and his agent to continue their stance. I think the owners have told Liverpool not to bother with another bid this summer. If they've managed to convey to Isak that no really does mean no, then really he has no choice but to knuckle down. Obviously that's not without risk, but I think our owners are in it for the long haul and they're prepared for any consequences. If it means we have a crap season before bouncing back again, then so be it.

The media coverage and the reactions of other supporters have been hard to take. They really seem to want this move to happen. Let's face it, if you're a supporter of one of the Big Six clubs, you want us to fail in order to preserve your team's status. If you support another club, you're going to be jealous if we're the ones who make the breakthrough. If Villa or Forest were to be the ones to do it, I'd be a bit pissed off, I'm sure. We're fighting this battle alone.

I’m coming around to the opinion that if we can get Šeško and Wissa in that we let Isak go for around 135M plus achievable add-odds taking us to 150M.

I’d rather have a happy Isak but if he’s off a year later regardless and we can get Šeško in on a 5 year contract (bearing in mind he’s unlikely to be available next year), then just let’s get it done. It avoids a circus next year and could allow us to improve a couple of other positions. The service Isak will get at Lpool will be very different to what he’s had with us.

Perhaps your right, his injury record doesn't seem to be improving

If I were to guess, it sounds like he has been in touch with several of his teammates during all of this. So I dont think its as easy as they all despise him as for a lot of footballers, this is just business as usual. Its a job for them and these things happen fairly often Id say, a lot more things behind the scenes than we know. Same with Eddie, who has been fairly supportive of Isak in the media.

I think its mainly a thing for the fans and Isak.

If Isak is off a year later it massively benefits us though, and it potentially means we aren’t directly strengthening a rival. To me ideal scenario is to get Sesko, keep Isak, forget about Wissa and spend anything we have left (including a June 2026 Isak windfall if needed) on CM and CB. Four improvements to the first team could well see us challenge on all fronts this upcoming season. With Sesko bedded in we’d then only need to bring in a second choice striker next summer to be in a much stronger position overall.

Agree. We can still be the biggest winners out of this transfer window if we play our cards right, don’t let these social media influencers sway your opinion.

Had to stop that video and couldn’t watch it, Ambrose talking sense but the presenter angling for a negative slant with his “really? You telling me out of all of those players they’ll all welcome him back” then following with his “even after he’s said to them all nah mate I want to go” then his “but isn’t it too awkward for the fans”. He was really wanting something to latch onto.

The only way he can leave this summer is we got the replacement AND the fee is so high that everyone will recognise Newcastle as the winner of the saga, like 160M +. PIF won’t allow us to be a loser

Tbh I couldn't care what they over.

A) Isak is irreplaceable- I don't care who we bring in - it will take time to adjust to our tactics. It took Isak a season to properly bed in. The club has to come first.

B) All the media have had it a given Isak was going to Liverpool- I think it would send a stronger message him staying regardless of how much they offer.

He can't run for more than an hour.

150m would be more than enough.

That’s fine for Liverpool as they have the players to rotate, rest him and protect him - we’re running him into the Knackers yard due to lack of choices, I’ve seen games we were 4 - 0 up and still couldn’t bring him off for a rest. Not saying keep him as I hate what he’s done but even having Wissa could potentially get so much more out of Isak throughout the season.

Like many interviewers, he really needed to shut up and listen a bit more, but overall I think he was just showing the supporters' perspective. Our attachment to the club is of a different nature to the players', and we feel a sense of rejection. If Isak's team-mates were to be approached by Liverpool with a promise to double their salary, they'd have itchy feet too. They can take the Isak situation more philosophically.

A lot of Liverpool fans don’t realise this, they’ll be in for a shock if he signs for them.

I think they’ll be fine when they see Ekitike coming on for him

He'll still be feeling very sheepish about going in tomorrow and facing them.

I've no doubt at all that there will be some ribbing and piss taking whilst the leaders put their arms around his shoulders but Isak wouldn't be human if he wasn't worried about a 1 on 1 session with big Joe
