The fact that the club was putting out noises about there still being a road back and he can be reintegrated etc makes me think it’s not all lost. We will see.

I think he'll be made to train alone for a while until Eddie's laid down the law. Then he'll be brought back into the fold depending on how invested he looks.

The squad isnt training today. There's no reason for them to be there unless they were told.

Someone is putting on a show.

It was either today or tomorrow that Isak would be reporting back, I don’t think it’s crazy to just have a reporter there for both days.

It depends on our finances. I’ve got big concerns we won’t get a CB and CM. If we buy an Isak replacement but don’t shift Isak, will that be us done for the summer?

We have a saleable asset wanting away, we can totally spend now and recoup next summer to balance the books

SHOWDOWN TALKS!

I couldn't give a fuck if he's there to say he won't play, that shouldn't change the fact that we'll hold him to his contract if necessary.

Sets a very bad precedent going forward if we allow him to leave on anything but our terms at this point in his contract.

I think we'll see him back in normal training with the first team.

Definitely a chance to make this look like he was really sorry and promised to work hard etc. Depending on what the Isak camp leaks as well I guess.

There was one report that he'd been saying for a lot of last year that he wanted that to be his last at the club. Exploring options now seems to back that up.

Yes, he has a contract but we also don't know exactly what discussions were had last year with him. Hopefully it would have been something along the lines that he could only leave if someone met the club's valuation.

Which Liverpool obviously haven't, nowhere near, so that would be a fairly straightforward response to him. So I don't think it is impossible that he stays.

If this is true, I don't understand why he didn't set his stall out at the very beginning of the transfer window.

All this hoying his toys out halfway through doesn't make any sense and is amateurish from the agent.

The only way he trains is if hes worried the Liverpool move doesn't happen IMO.

He would train regardless I reckon, even if the Liverpool move falls through, he'll still want to be playing the season here.

He wont train. Make no mistake, he will be gone again within the hour. Its all deliberately trying to put pressure on us.

He will be making it absolutely clear that he wont play for us again.

If you expect positive news, you haven't been paying attention.

Scenes in Eddie’s office right now….

It makes sense on specific circumstance.

If he only wants to go to Liverpool and he's aware Liverpool aren't willing to pay the going rate (I actually think the going rate should be way north of 150 personally).

When you look at it through that lens it makes perfect sense. Everyone else has spent up reducing the bidding. It can work out for the player too as as a lower fee might allow him to demand higher salary /bonuses.

Oh im absolutely suggesting he refuses to train.

Ah OK. That would definitely be an escalation now the team and staff are back. Personally can’t see that but we’ll see.

If he does we should go into full hostile mode with refusing to pay him etc.

FWIW I think he would’ve just stayed away from the training ground if that was the next move.

I can't see Isak doing a Wissa. End of day, if he has to stay (and he reluctantly agrees to it), he's still playing in the UCL, heading towards a World Cup (that may be his only one in his career) and outside 3 sides (Arsenal, Liverpool, Man City) have a strong a chance as any to win the competitions he's involved in. Not exactly a situation of having some knock off B-Tech coach in charge who was doing the set pieces last season, after seeing your top player leave and your one chance of UCL potentially drift away in your final footballing years.
