I'm already so annoyed at Isak for not only his carry on but his choice of club, anyone but them! But I'll be even more annoyed with the club if they sell him to them. Exactly. I seriously hope and expect the club to not think this way at all. We will have been utterly robbed if that’s the case.

TRon
We just need to buy another striker and leave him on the bench for a while. Even if it's Wissa, he might be 29, but he's a top striker and we can use him to keep Isak benched for a month if we want to.

I guess you could say we’ve had our money’s worth we don’t need the money and we’d be giving a direct rival someone who could probably score 200 goals for them. The fee is pretty much irrelevant. There’s absolutely no need to give them that.
John P
At the end of the day, he's one player. A bloody good player, but he has his weaknesses, and if he doesn't want to be here, we're better off without. This whole saga is just fucking boring me now. If he stays, I'm sure Howe will integrate him back into the squad and he'll perform well. If he goes, we get a load of money for him and we have generally spent money very very well in the last few years since the takeover. Spend the money we get for him and move on

duo
https://tbrfootball.com/pif-want-fsg-to-invest-in-saudi-pro-league-club-as-liverpools-alexander-isak-bid-rejected/ Quote When PIF arrived on Tyneside, the expectation was for the Saudis to leverage their vast football network to their benefit. True, there have been significant commercial perks – Newcastle’s lucrative front-of-shirt and sleeve sponsorship deals are with PIF-linked entities, for example – but the club has arguably been materially disadvantaged by the Saudi Pro League, whose spending has strengthened rivals. “In terms of transfers, Newcastle and PIF have tried to keep their Saudi footballing sides separate,” says TBR Football Chief Correspondent Graeme Bailey. “I know clubs who have talked to PIF about Saudi deals, and vice versa, and they ask about Newcastle and their situation... “I am told they purposefully have tried to avoid Newcastle players moving to the Pro League and also Newcastle possibly bringing players in, even though situations have presented themselves, including in this window. “I am told some at Newcastle even think the separation is a little over the top – too conservative. They look at what Man City do with City Group and Chelsea with BlueCo – and they are both playing those systems brilliantly and most importantly to their benefit.” Edited August 3, 2025 by duo
Turnbull2000
If he stays and still scores, I'll obviously be happy if it brings us points, but I'll also grumbling 'damn right you keep trying you fucking bellend'. Don't think his presence will ever sit right with me again. Praying we can dump him abroad.

Super Duper Branko Strupar
39 minutes ago, Shak said: As much as emotionally I don’t want to see us cave and let Isak go to Liverpool, rationally I do wonder what exactly the point of putting our foot down and forcing him to stay for another year is. Damage is done in terms of his relationship with his teammates you’d imagine, a huge part of our success the last couple of years has been the incredible atmosphere at the club and I can’t see a starting CF with one foot out the door for a season being great for that. If we think Sesko or someone else we can land this summer is the long term replacement and we can get a price for Isak we think is fair, bite the bullet and do it. Ideally we’d sign Sesko and be willing to have him and Isak on the books for the year if our price for Isak isn’t met. If they meet it in time for us to then go out and get Wissa, so be it. If not, we wait a year and see if there are other options next summer. This is exactly where I'm at now. However much of a frustration it is to see football conducted like this, its nothing new. Maybe more pronounced, and maybe the worst player it could be in our situation. I honestly think he's not been 100% with us for a little while now anyway. I'm not sure he likes the workload asked of him, personally. We obviously hope you can build that top class level of support around him to ask less of him and end up getting even better from him, but he can just move. I'd really like to continue to have arguably the world's best striker in our team, but I'm not going to beg. If he doesn't want to do it here he can fuck off. And the fact it's to those classless cunts. Urgh. PIF's move now. Whoever we sign to replace him we'll be taking a canny step backwards. Oh, and thanks to all the Fabrizio Romano enablers. Bleak. Which makes it even more of a difficult situation, arguably even more than PSR as if the one overinflated market in the world is cut off from you, you can’t benefit from PSR anyway. You’re cutting off your nose to spite your face. lose loss situation. Either don’t fund rivals or just fund everyone equally. Us having that SPL connection and us being allowed to use it would sctuallly help up to bridge PSR disadvantages way quicker and be an equaliser for us. But by being goody two shoes we’re screwed either way
