But does it not mean that we can't just splash out ias much as we would like to if we got a big fee for Isak due to the amortisation nonsense? So we are still paying for previous signings spread over 5 years. If we sign any new players we are then spreading their cost over 5 years of their contract on top of existing players. But with the rolling 3 year thing. If we got £150m or whatever for Isak now. We bank it all this season and then only get the benefit of it on the books for 3 seasons? Therefore once that drops off, whatever we have spent on new players. In the remaining 2 years of their 5 year contracts after the Isak sale drops off would need to be covered by large rises in revenue growth? Otherwise we are in another psr hole where we must sell another player for big money to cover the deficit? Kinda correct, that’s why I always said it’s even better in PSR perspective to sell Isak next summer. If we sell Isak for 150m, assuming no more amortization cost left, we will have 150m profit for 2025, none in 2026 and 2027 then if we buy players in for 150m, assuming 5 years contract, based on amortization, it would become a -30m loss for the next 5 years so if we sell Isak now, it would be 120m profits and -30m loss for the next 4 years. So in this scenario in 2028 we would have -90m 3 year rolling loss. if we sell Isak in 2026 instead, it would be a -30m loss for 2025, 120m for 2026, -30m loss for 2027-2029. In this case in 2028 we would still have a 60m 3 year rolling profit. It would be 2029 when we have the -90m loss, 1 year later of course very likely we won’t get 150m if we sell next season. The above scenarios are extremely simplified, since I didn’t factor in the salaries. But the logic still holds: it’s even better to sell Isak next year in PSR perspective. KennyUtd
At the point where I'm fully behind selling the shithead. We've had some cunts at Newcastle over the years but he's becoming the absolute worst. Just unsettling the squad before a huge season. For that alone I hope he turns to fkn shite immediately. He's a proper spoilt brat and needs kicking down the road asap.

Crazy strategy if we are going with that. I think, as it stands, we don't need to sell Isak even if we sign Sesko. But it would other signings bar 1 maybe impossible. We still hold the ace in this but a quick resolution would benefit both us and liverpool. There offer was kind of shit (110m) having spoken about 120m and us valuing him at 150m. I don't think 150m is unreasonable for the top striker in Europe at the age of 26. Isak is so all-rounded player and his only 2 disadvantages are injuries and being a really unprofessional this summer.

wyn davies
Don't think we need to sell Isak as it would appear we had the dough anyway based on bids for previous strikers earlier in the window.

The level of anger from some of our players towards his behaviour has apparently been significant. Hardly surprising the way he has acted like a 3 year old. At this point I am just happy for him to get gone and not disrupt the morale of the team. As Eddie How always hints, it is THE football club which is the collective interest. Having someone around like Isak behaving like he has, is not the best for the club.

Sadly for him and his agent he doesn’t really have a say in the matter now, does he? I don’t know which bit part player or member of the technical team you are getting your itk stuff from, but I seriously doubt they’re dealing directly with the Reubens and PIF people st the club who will ultimately make the decision based on what’s best for the club, not what’s best for Isak or his rotten agent. We wouldn’t have £150m profit on a £150m sale next summer. That isn’t how amortisation works - technically it never reaches zero, but there’d still be over £12m book value left for amortisation. If we keep Isak and spend £150m, it isn’t -£30m this season - it’s -£43m as Isak is still on the books. The PL is also looking to end the rolling three year losses in line with UEFA’s rules. If he plays like he did post-LC Final we won’t be talking £150m - and my suspicion is that he basically wanted off from that point.
Kanj
Again, I’d tell him he’s not going anywhere this summer and will work with his team behind the scenes to secure a move next summer. We can look at a bumper contract with an acceptable release clause if hes ready to buy back in and make amends with the team and staff.
