If anyone wants an example of how dodgy and what extreme lengths these cartel clubs will go with agents and behind the scenes crap to get the players they want...just watch that John Obi Mikel interview with Linekar.

One of my clients is a former FIFA-registered player agent. He was big pals with Shearer, Carver and knew a lot of people around the club. He said you would not believe the level of corruption that goes on behind the scenes in top-level football. He no longer has any interest in football because of it.

I wonder if Al-Hilal is related to our owners in any way, and whether they are trying to indirectly provide the funds to Liverpool to pay £150M for Isak.

It wouldn't matter in the context of our short term future since there's so little chance of getting in the players we need to push on.

We're strengthening a rival, significantly weakening our own squad, and would the be pretty much reliant on doing a lot of business in January to replace him.

Not everything that goes on is shared via twitter accounts and the media. There will absolutely be discussions between the clubs and I’m certain a fee has been discussed and I’m certain we’ve told Liverpool it’ll be a flat out no unless we have a replacement.

Slightly patronising, point still stands, Liverpool have been playing games, not least of those with the derisory bid.

I get the premise that he doesn’t leave until a replacement is found - fine, but there has to be contingency to re-integrate him then if he stays because at the minute he’s had no pre season,  and we are going to Villa park with Gordon up top.  We’re in a situation where we could be throwing points away in the first 3 games, Wissa might come in but he’s the same with his lack of a pre-season.  Whole thing fucking stinks man and I’m sick of it

Yep money corrupts and football is awash with it.

Infantino sitting next to Trump and sucking up to him was a sad and shameful image of where it is.

If Liverpool think they can match our valuation, or even close enough they think we will accept, in what world does anyone believe they'll do the gentlemanly thing and wait for us to get a replacement. They will 100% try and force through a move at our expense, what have they done above board so far?

If they have the cash they'll tell Isak to hand in a transfer request and cover his loyalty bonus from us with a signing on bonus from them.

That's the thing, they would've bid 135 and tried for Isak. This whole waiting game for a replacement is BS. What if we don't find anyone? Are they gonna say, "Okay, you failed, we'll try again in January?"

It's all media crap.

He's seen as a toxic influence, he isnt training with the team because someone might just leave one on him, and whilst that might be nice to see, from a club perspective it's not great

I think they'll come in with 140 on deadline day

Wasn’t intended to be. We are unaware of internal discussions. I do think it would be pretty foolish of Liverpool to bid this early when we’ve no replacement. If we go in to last week with no replacement I could see them bidding to force the issue. While we appear to be actively trying to find a replacement there’s no need for them to force it

We need to stop finding replacement for him and focus on other positions.   He can wait and maybe get his move after we are done with that, if not he'll have to tough it up for 11 more months.  Really tough on him, I know.

No they’ll force the issue towards the end of the window not now when we are trying to sign a replacement. If we do sign say Jackson I’d bet good money Liverpool bid within 24 hours

If our stance is that he doesn't get sold until a replacement is signed, putting in a transfer request isn't going to do anything practical for Isak to make the move happen and would only mean he loses out financially if it does happen.

I disagree. I would say Liverpool is foolish to bid that late. What if we really reject? That means Ekitike is their only ST and if he fails then Liverpool would have a very difficult season ahead as well

If nothing else, Liverpool are probably aware that distracting our two-man band from focussing on the search for a replacement woild be the worst thing they can do!!!

They’ll have other targets and will be a lot quicker moving for them than we are.

That's not how transfers work, yeah? Liverpool needs a striker, so they won't wait until the last minute. What if we say no because we don't have anyone to replace him? Then they'll be looking for other players, who might already be gone or their teams won't sell because there's no time to get a replacement.

Liverpool won't wait, man. The only thing holding them back is the price, and we're being stubborn. Their 110 bid proves it. If we'd made a counteroffer, the Isak thing would probably be sorted by now. It's just media stuff, mate.

Seriously, if Isak leaves, we need two forwards. If he stays we need one.  Season starts next weekend. We will definitely have seen movement by then I think.

Signing Jackson for above what Chelsea paid would be madness. They gambled on him and he’s bombed. He’s not wanted there and they’re expecting a profit? I’d be offering a loan with an option to buy and, only as a last resort.

He really hasn’t bombed mate, he missed chances, but they were so much better when he was in the team

I’ve already addressed most of this. We’ve told Liverpool he’s not for sale unless there is a replacement and I suspect there’s no amount of pressure from Liverpool or huffing and stropping from Isak that would change that. I’ll go as far as saying letting Isak go with no replacement is enough grounds for Howe to consider his position

Very foolish indeed. There's a lot of uncertainty waiting till near the end of the window.
