Hes screwed himself here. However that doesnt mean we have to bend over and sell. Just bench him for a few months and make him sit beween Gillespie and Ruddy. Come Chrismas hell be begging to play for us again

Without any signings I think we'll be begging him to play for us again

Or what he's saying now. Unless I've missed something he said the club knew, not that he knew.

I struggle to believe that too. You’d think if the club knew, his teammates would have known, and they, as far as I know, absolutely didn’t know.

Anybody who knows PIF and understands how they work will know that this is par for the course. They are not business strategists, they are money men. We dont need them to be involved in the day to day of Newcastle United. We need them to hire someone who will do that, and communicate with them our needs on a regular basis. Its not a coincidence that all of the "behind the scenes" turmoil and upheaval started showing itself when Staveley left. She was the one with PIFs ear, she could drive the project forward, and ask them for what we needed. Seems theirs been a void there since, and its contributed to our lack of urgency, and efficiency. My point is, the Saudi's will continue to put their money in, we need someone at the club to tell them when, where, and why.

As the majority owners, of course, it’s their responsibility to make sure the managerial/administrative structure is there to do what it’s supposed to do. And they’ve royally fucked that up.

On whistleblowers podcasts he says

“I’ve know Alexander Isak has been unsettled and unhappy for best part of a year. This goes back to last summer when he wasn’t given the contract that he thought he was owed. There was a sense at the end of last season that things were going to come to a head”

And he’s talking absolute bollocks. Revisionary bollocks.

Wasn’t that a known thing a few weeks back - I remember there being some tweets about Mitchell think he was already well paid?

He’s not the only one that’s said he’s been unhappy for a while since the new contract promise was broken

And none of them said a single thing, or knew a single thing, until mid July when all of a sudden they needed column inches to fill.

Who said that?

Craig Hope has said he’s known that Isak has been unsettled for the best part of a year.

I definitely knew my lass was banging her gym instructor for the best part of a year, that why I paid for her to have a pair of falsies, bought her a Range Rover Evoque, let her rack up thirty grand of credit card debt in my name and took us on an all inclusive holiday to Gran Canaria for some winter sun

Fair enough  Who's to know, but he certainly never once let on in any reports or podcasts that he did.

He can’t win mind  he said today sources in club have said they think Isak should go and everyone on here is like why’s he revealed that? The sources should be sacked Then when he sits on something it’s he’s never said it before.

Right. So we had one of the worlds best striker in our team saying to us for a year that he was unhappy that we didn't offer him a new contract.

And we just did nothing about it?

Is that believable? Could Mitchell be that stupid?

so he trained separately all week basically. tomorrow another training in the morning then friendly at evening vs Espanyol. he should be in the VIP if he has any injuries but I guess he will not be in the stadium.

I bet he hoped we get there with Sesko and then we bend over to Liverpool.

If a sports journo had an “Isak hates life at NUFC” scoop 12 months ago they’d have published it, they’ll do owt for clicks cos it pays their bills

They don’t sit on stories like that so they can say “I always knew” after the event when it means sweet fuck all

Isak’s not Jimmy Savile

Sesko would have at least been a statement signing and something for the club to rally around, but now that we've apparently moved on to Jackson, it begs the question: why are we dealing with Isak as though we have no control over the situation, or in Seinfeld terms as though we have no hand.

We're surely at the point where we should concede defeat and tell Isak he is staying for another season, but we don't seem to regard that as an option. Beyond financial considerations, it suggests a complete breakdown in the relationship between him and the club, either because of his poor behaviour or because he feels somehow vindicated, presumably because we've failed or reneged when it comes to contract promises or allowing him a big move.

Some people have talked about us forging a siege mentality this season in light of what's gone on this summer. If Liverpool screwed us and Isak by signing Ekitike, then he could still play a part in that but we just seem to be sheepishly moving from one possible replacement to the next.
