Haven't heard anything re Silverstone. But it's been circulated a fair bit that Eales and Ashworth wanted her gone. Believe I even read someone, maybe Hope or Keith, saying that Ashworth was a bit gutted he'd already decided to leave when she got ousted. sushimonster85
For all her faults, she was the PIF whisperer at the club. Wasn't afraid to go around the red tape and talk directly to whoever she needed to to get stuff done.

Smal
I reckon Eddie should be trying to convince Staveley to come back to be honest . It’s undeniably gone to shit off the pitch since she left.

Wouldn't surprise me at all. I think their was a general feeling among some of the board that the Howe Staveley alliance held too much power. Its why I think Ashworth probably left, and why when Eales brought in Mitchell, Howe came out publicly with that power move when the team was in pre-season in I think Germany. I am convinced that If Howe had failed last season, Eales and Mitchell were ready to give him the boot and get someone who would work within their structure. Howe obviously delivered the greatest season arguably in the last 70 years, cementing himself as the most popular man at the club, and that with combination of Eales (sadly) getting ill meant Mitchell knew it was pointless to continue. And now we have the void left that we are currently dealing with.

Palestoon
Doesn't necessarily mean they hated each other. Just that their may have been differences in how they wanted to work. Which wouldn't be surprising. Eales/Ashworth/Mitchell are football people that all came from "modern" football set up. Strict Heirarchy, manager coaches, DOF in charge of signings etc. Amanda had zero experience in football, and Eddie worked most of his career at Bournemouth where he wore every hat for them. Its not shocking that they probably wouldnt agree on a lot of things in terms of running the club. Their was way too much smoke for their to have been nothing in it. Were they having dramatic bust ups in the boardroom? probably not, but their are plenty of signs that their was some sort of power struggle playing out behind the scenes. That’s Craig Hope, along with a few other journalists, revising history. Absolute bullshit. If he’d have known anything of the sort he would have continued to sing his praises from the rooftop each week on his post match videos and be adamant that he was going nowhere in basically every video he released until early July. Kid Icarus
He said the club knew. He was saying early this summer that no one knows what Isak's position is and whether he is or isn't happy at the club, but that it's likely no one could afford to meet Newcastle's asking price - cue Isak working to bring that asking price down by being a complete cunt. Lotus
Without any viable replacement he’ll surely have to stay. If we sell him and get no one significant (who is left….?) i wouldn’t be surprised if that would be enough for EH to walk.
