Sorry you don't let players and other clubs take the piss out of you. It would show a sign of total weakness if we did lm, and the Saudis are the last people who will allow that to happen

Fair enough, might ruin the cunts career but it'll set us back years.

It'll set us back if we just give in and let him go for less than our value. IT sends the message that we can both be bullied by other clubs, and that players can force their move if they want it. His value will still be astronomical next season.

How he will be sold next year, when a few other clubs will be in the market for him also. I'm not even convinced you're actually a Newcastle fan either

I personally don't hope we don't go down the stubborn way.

He is under contract yes, but he can still do the absolute minimum to keep to his contract. And for every month his value will dwindle while him still getting 120k/w.

It'll fuck our PSR completely but worse it'll devestate our reputation for new signings. Even if we are right in this matter, this sort of issues will certainly stain the club if we refuse to train and play him under the current circumstances. It would be different if players saw the club as their ceiling, but we're not there yet.

Each to their own mate

Not going to point out what I disagree with there, all I'll say is that the club have to stand their ground.

Any player with 3 years left (no matter who they are) can only ever leave on our terms.

I'm not sure how much the world cup will affect Isaks thinking. I know they also have Gyökeres but let's be real, Isak is never going to be left out of the squad unless he get leprosy or something

I'm not saying we should sell under value. 140-150 million quid for getting us two CL spots and a throphy along with 75 million profit is good fucking business. It'd be preferred where we are not in a weak position regarding strikers. I know people mentioned we have to pay Real Sociedad etc but I do believe that is things we can brush away from the PSR rules if thats the case, as it'd made our purchase smaller.

Good chance they won't qualify with an out of shape Isak though :)

there is absoutely no reason we should sell him for 140 million, if the club's valuation is to be believed.

And once again, value is not only measured in the cash we get. We also have to take into consideration the optics if we allow ourselves to be bullied by a player and another club. It's inviting more of this shit.

Exactly, this is why you don't give out new contracts constantly etc.

Realistically i find it hard to see him playing again if he has pissed off the squad and considering the crowd reaction. We have to sell and probably not for as much as we hoped but we absolutely shouldn't sell to a rival in league. Can't be strengthening rivals to encourage this shit.

Eh? Only one that could cause that would be Isak himself. We clearly want him to play it's his behaviour that's stopping him.

If he wants to rot in the reserves rather than play champions league football that's entirely on him, like [emoji38]

We've offered him a better contract with a clause to leave next summer, we can't really do much more and he still acting the twat

Crowd reactions don't mean shit but if the team turns on him that means something.

Have we though? In that case I've missed it.

£140m is a whole lot of money though, probably only Newcastle fans who would think we got scammed on that.

Have to take the "official" asking price with a grain of salt. Just look at Chelsea and their £80m asking price on Jackson.

Won't say you are wrong though. It's a complicated situation with no easy answers imo.

My sympathy for him is basically gone. Give him the next week to get his act together. Tell him there’s a deal to sign if he wants to be paid more and also that he won’t be sold for less than nine digits next season, which may be impossible without a good season.

And then either way name him in the squad for the Liverpool game. If he refuses to play then he’s on strike and he can sit without pay.

Loving all the comments on the various social media reports re Isak from Liverpool fans saying "but Isak wants Liverpool".

As Brian Potter says "and I wanna moonwalk son, but life's a shithouse".
