We really don’t. He has three more years on his contract.

For the record I'm absolutely fine with forcing him to stay, just realistically we should recoup some money at some point not to fucking Liverpool tho

Loving all the comments on the various social media reports re Isak from Liverpool fans saying "but Isak wants Liverpool".

As Brian Potter says "and I wanna moonwalk son, but life's a shithouse".

And so is big Joe

Not a chance he wants Liverpool if PSG, Real Madrid, or Barcelona come in for him though.

Liverpool is his best transfer option in this window, if he keeps going he’ll get better offers elsewhere. Heck I’d be calling those clubs up and asking if they want him now, even if we take installed payments, rather than sell to Liverpool.

140 next summer to anyone but Liverpool works for me.

He’s spat his dummy out because he knows he can’t really win for now.

Eddie seems strong enough to let him rot in the reserves until he wants to buck his ideas up and comes grovelling. Something he’ll be forced to do after a few months. Let’s have it right - football is a fickle business, he’ll soon be forgotten out of the limelight and the next big thing starts bagging goals for fun, there’s always a surprise package - keep your eyes on Morgan Rogers - he fits liverpools bill as well.

Even if we decide to delay it for a year - there’ll be more competition for him then and we can still cash in. Ball is very very much in our court. He and his agent have played their hand, Liverpool have also tried all their tricks in the media - PIF/The Club haven’t blinked and now they’ll be panicking

If there’s anyone I’d take as part exchange from Liverpool who they may consider as it’s not one of their main guys it would be Szobsolai

90m plus szob would work for me

Szob 100%. Honestly would be my condition to do the deal.

You played such a hand in disrupting my summer?

150m for Isak.
30m for Szbob.

Want him that bad? Then do us what we need to make it work for me.

Unfortunately he has stripped some value off, we can't ask so much because everyone knows he's toxic to our dressing room now, but also he is a worse player than thought, he is a cunt, which is a bit of a downside for a player.

Think we can forget about Szoboszlai.. Would love it, but don't see them letting him go.

Aye, I'm sure he has a Liverpool tattoo, there's no way he'd leave them to come here like

Edit: it's a quote from Steven Gerrard, but still 😅

I reckon Lascelles will have had a few choice words with Isak since he's been back. Not surprised if it was partly his call (along with the Leadership team) to say no to Isak training with the group again.

I personally don't hope we don't go down the stubborn way.

He is under contract yes, but he can still do the absolute minimum to keep to his contract. And for every month his value will dwindle while him still getting 120k/w.

It'll fuck our PSR completely but worse it'll devestate our reputation for new signings. Even if we are right in this matter, this sort of issues will certainly stain the club if we refuse to train and play him under the current circumstances. It would be different if players saw the club as their ceiling, but we're not there yet.

Totally.

Liverpool never recovered from all the times they played hard ball over player transfers, even when they were still a circus.  Now no one wants to join them.

Depends what you been with playing hardball, I was more talking about throwing him in to the reserves for the rest of the season or make him run out his contract on the bench or similar. I'm not in a opinion where I believe its a good image for the club.

Thats not going to happen, it never does.  It's just forum members letting off steam.

If he is still at the club 1st of September, he will rejoin the first team, there'll be some PR photos of some fist pumps at training and it'll be happy families for 6-12 months depending on the terms of surrender.  Like every other aborted transfer attempt involving star players.

The club have no reason to let him rot in reserves.

Principally because we don't have a "reserves".
